You don't need to know anything about SEO to do this, just provide good service and talk to your customers. Simple.

4. Talk to your customers and strike a rapport with them.

You can even use a CSV to update all your URLs at once.
One big challenge for updating by hand is your (or your agency's) time costs money which needs to be justified and this is difficult to do. By saving many hours, you can make the case more easily and free up time for other tasks!
