Again, contempt of court but I refer you all to the 1156 update in which one of the accused makes an anonymous call to the police (11 months later) grassing up the other defendant.

People sometimes claim milk adds to the taste but I’d only use it if I needed to bulk the dish out for some reason. Cream would add a bit to the taste - I do add cream to mash for the family (I’m no longer allowed to eat cream by docs) but I’ve never tried it in scramble.

I want to know what you read that horrified you

I grew up with it so it’s sort of normal to me (alongside actually normal scrambled eggs). They’re definitely two very different dishes - I wouldn’t eat the SL one with salmon or anything one would typically have, but it is delicious.

Also just eggs and butter for me, unless I’m making Sri Lankan style scrambled eggs in which case onions, tomatoes, chilli and turmeric

Good on you - sad that you’re in this position but glad you’re standing your ground. All the best.

As in this is now the third time it’s happened. It’s obviously not the drivers’ fault. But why bother doing any of the clever SMS/web stuff if you can’t reliably update the logistics software and the drivers’ tablets that tell them where to go when?

“getting Red Dwarf to…”, I should have said - I missed that bit out

IIRC Grant and Naylor were obsessed with getting to either 52 or 104 episodes (I forget) because that was what you needed for the US networks to offer you a syndication deal.

Back here in the UK, “abolish the home office” is one of these things that at first glance sounds absurd but is actually a sensible and achievable policy position in which departmental functions are hived off and you then (in theory) lose the institutional malaise effects that exist currently.

Two ‘main’s? Absolutely no.

The rule is that “rhythm makes your headlines sing (doo-dah, doo-dah) and it’s always painful when the rhythm doesn’t work. Eddie has nailed the rhythm here but what it highlights is that this headline is always going to struggle.

Jacob is right about the mainly/mains clash but the rhythm breaks down in the second deck as well. It needs an extra syllable before “mainly”, for which there isn’t room, but as a result the whole thing lacks scansion.

The problem is that as soon as you hit the West End (other than the Embankment superhighway) that's completely lost and it becomes incredibly cycle-unfriendly again.

Even after LTN came in, was a success *and* pushed loads of business his way, in no small part because parents using the park could now queue and congregate en masse in the road outside the cafe, and buy ice cream, coffees etc, he has pivoted his opposition and is still going on about how bad it is.
comment in response to post
One of the worst locally to me was the owner of a small cafe outside a park/play area who led the opposition to an LTN planter at the same junction on the spurious basis that (according to him) customers who drove to the cafe would be lost.

Got to start with the 1991 Comic Strip-ish The Pope Must Die, surely? www.imdb.com/title/tt0102... (no idea why the IMDB preview thinks it’s called “…Diet” - the page doesn’t call it that)

Saw Cardinal Re being interviewed on Sky through the open window of his Cortina estate as he was driving into Goodison this morning. Kept things close to his chest.
