Strategery. But…more dangerous.

For what? Certain documents are going to be required for certain items vs others in different applications. But, in general, it’s surprising the number of times ppl don’t have ID. Of any kind. No photo ID, no BC. Always need ID!

Went a bit over 60 minutes (ok, a lot, 🫤 ) so calling it. Thank you very much! Enjoy your evenings and maybe get some ice cream.

Several things. But, one that’s relevant now, what you can do inside vs outside. There’s a lot of little things that can really mitigate the harm. Won’t stop it. Won’t make it go away. But now, more than ever, it’s important to take those steps to help where possible. Only possible as a fed.

It’s a place to start, and we all need to start somewhere. Then, we build.

Your guess is as good as ours. But, honestly, things that do work take a lot of energy and time. Ppl like @marcelias.bsky.social and @crew.bsky.social do amazing work. They push for transparency, legality. Start by following & supporting groups like them, & other legal & advocate groups.

And ice cream. Right out of the carton. Whip cream in the carton with whatever toppings. No bowl needed.

Anything with carbs. Pasta, sauce, cheese, vegetables. Done. Happy. Makes the struggle bus less struggle bus-y.

What we hope wont happen. Immigration reform, new admin that actually *follows* and *respects* the constitution. So, maybe in the next decade.

No idea. I know there have been several travel advisories issued in places like Canada. Also, new recruitment ads for universities in other countries for academics in the US.

Cause we’re saucy! Like a nice arrabbiata or béchamel.

The EPA. Hate that it’s weakened (again) but what it stands for is crucial. Can’t really have a world for the future unless we have, well, a world.

Robert’s isn’t exactly known for a strong backbone or, well, any strength of character whatsoever. Maybe he can be swayed by those on the court with strength of character. They are currently a minority of the court, but they are strong.

Very!!! Thank you!

The fact that it has now been referenced twice: once in each of Trump’s terms, is unsurprising, but also significant.

Korematsu was one of the darkest cases that was still considered “good law” (ie, not expressly overruled by case or statute). We were taught that it was never overruled as no law was ever enacted that could be brought before SCOTUS to then overrule Korematsu.

Court records! Since this is in federal district court, it’s available on PACER. There are public links as well. But seeing comments during arguments, as opposed to just reading the record, is very nice. Can be very helpful. & just enjoyable for certain types of ppl 🤓

Thank you. Was reading through the court records, but being able to see some of the comments from the hearing itself is very nice.

We’ve seen that exact thing over the last week, just re: immigration. One story gets news coverage & multiple members of congress calling on his behalf & the other group….silence.

TRO=temp restraining order. Temp stops an action to give court time to review. Here, it means that it’s stopping removals of ppl removed under the new invocation of Alien Enemies Act of 1798, so court can see if this new use is legal or not legal. Our opinion: not legal. Exact opposite of legal.😳

? This is basic, factual, info that’s been this way for a long time. Not sure about the helping, but this is how the system is/ has been for decades & lots of ppl Also, imm courts are fed. Not state & not political appointment. They r admin. Regions 100% play a role cause of who lives where. But 🤨
