(Which is to say: i understand that the cops & politicians are saying this wasn't terrorism & that there's "no evidence" it was "racially motivated". Me, i think racism is the safest baseline assumption unless and until there is strong evidence TO THE CONTRARY, because RACISM IS A SOCIETAL DEFAULT.)

"Why do Americans have to make everything about them?"
Imagine that I've grabbed you by your shoulders in a firm but friendly embrace, leaned in so close you can smell my toothpaste, and loudly hissed, "LEARN FROM OUR DEADLY MISTAKE"

The result is that the utter abandonment of radical feminist politics allowed space for the appropriation of feminist signifiers by a properly sex-essentialist conservative movement championing the persecution of trans people, and instead of meaningful pushback feminism was ceded entirely.

Yes! Likewise, the Nazis made many of the decisions they did not because they were masking other real intentions, but because they were Nazis. They assessed the strength of their enemies and the value of decisions through the prism of Nazi race ideology, to their great ruin.

In short, I think the foreign policy Smart People need to wake up to the idea that maybe these guys Really Do Believe What They Say, they are not playing 4D chess but are in fact ideologically committed to notions which do not match reality, but do dictate policy.
Maybe they're just fascists./end

I was the trans kid everyone today seems so scared of. But I was also homeschooled, kept away from "liberal" public schools by parents terrified I'd turn out gay. I still came out to them at age 8. And all their efforts to detrans me accomplished was permanently estranging us.

The absolute binary, the roles and requirements of each official gender, the hierarchical caste system, this is the harmful gender ideology, not our efforts to move beyond their rigid confinement.

"Pope Francis death leaves a legacy of compassion for LGBTQ Christians"
"Members of LGBTQ community honor Pope Francis for his inclusivity, welcoming all into the church"
"LGBTQ+ leader calls Pope Francis a ‘gift to the community’"
That is pure fucking gaslighting

And like ...
I don't know how to explain, nicely and patiently and politely, that the hyperscrutiny transfems get, the fixation on us from cissexist society due to lurid fetishization and vilification of us as perverts, is not exactly epistemic justice.
We're not being "seen", here.
