Part of the problem here is this woman doesn't get that DEI is a policy not a gov't agency, and that her daughter would benefit from it if it was still in place. It's annoying that our current adminsitration is so good at investing in misinformation rather than investing in people.

I wish you luck on this, sir. Our camp for people with developmental and physical disabilities was burned in the 2020 fires. Just this year we have begun to draw down money for A&E services. If it was difficult to work with FEMA in 2020 it might be impossible now. Will we even be able to rebuid? 😔

I hope someone will listen.

And poof, not only do we not have funds to serve our campers, we no longer have the ability to rebuild after the 2020 fires. That will be it. We will be done.

And I worry that they will act on their claims that FEMA is an irrelevant organization and take away the funds that have been allocated to víctims of "natural" disasters, since they have decided that climate change is a hoax.

But the people in power don't really know the history of services for people with diasbilities and they are too busy golfing, attending the superbowl or hosting parties on Air Force one (admittedly I have no evidence of this, it just seems likely.)

Had to look up quisling. Of course spell nazi changes it to quitting. AI needs to expand it's vocabulario. And I need to turn off the spanish bar on my phone. 🙃

I cannot "heart" this. Particularly after reading the story about your mom fighting for services for your sister.

WTAF? I am not a fan of foul language but these people tempt my tongue to pronounce the obvious truth in a simple but clear fashion. I mean to say these people are pure and simply complete, idiotic assholes.

They want to see an end to the immigration that they believe weakens a nation's people, and for government to reinforce traditional religious and patriarchal values.

They claim that the equal rights central to democracy undermine nations by treating women and racial, religious, and gender minorities as equal to white Christian men.

It's a rampant response these days, and it seems it always has been.

I know, right? I suggest throwing a boiled egg on top for protein. If you can afford said egg. Thank God I have chickens.
