You should show up at the protest. That’s the most important thing you can do right now. “Look at how bad the other guy is” didn’t cut it in November and it’s not gonna cut it in 2026, or 2028, or any other time.

The motion in this hypes me up so much that I just wanna scream

I disagree, because “socialist,” “Marxist,” and “Islamist” are all ideologies that the US is avidly against, Zionism is an ideology it supports. “Terrorist” is also different, because it doesn’t describe an ideology, it’s more similar to “illegals” and “aliens.”

Leftists and progressives are very decentralized in the US right now, so they actually have no firm policy. Socialists, anarchists, pan-africanists, etc all want radically different things, because they don’t really have a party or figure to rally behind.

I’m sorry can you elaborate on that point, my username is dickgerm.bsky.social I cannot comprehend the link there.

I think he’s required to, because he has sway to try to stop it, as a governor. The collective guilt is because the US is paying Israel money and giving Israel weapons. If we weren’t doing that then, yeah, who gives a fuck what he says or doesn’t say.
comment in response to post
Yeah but does the governor himself have something to do with Zionism? What about his coworkers? Has he mentioned Israel’s genocide at all, and if so what has he said about it? If all he has mentioned about the issue is the “record high in antisemitism” then he’s blatantly ignoring everything else.

Don’t make fun of my legal name. My late mother chose that name.

I think you’re right about me there, my bad, but I’d reread the top comment and keep in mind that in the US most Zionists are Christian. I think he’s talking about Zionists in the US, who “won’t be silent on antisemitism but will be silent on genocide.”
comment in response to post
Your comment calling Zionists a “secret Jewish cabal” just pissed me off, I have no idea what it has to do with Illinois. I presume maybe Pritzker has been quiet on the Israel-Palestine situation and that’s what pisses top guy off?

Like Israel doesn’t actually give half a fuck about antisemitism the same way our government doesn’t give half a fuck about antisemitism. Israel just does whatever’s in the best interest of their colonialism, which includes using their Judaism as a shield.

I think it’s a lot less black and white than “antisemites do all antisemitism” the same way it’s less black and white than “racists do all racism.” Governments are to blame for this shit, not a bunch of individuals. Israel is a government, one we have interest in supporting.
comment in response to post
No it’s the very public government that the US uses to have an ally in the Middle East, whose propaganda to support its genocide is reliant on “you can’t critique us because we’re Jewish,” which accidentally makes genocide look like a Jewish thing, which accelerates antisemitism.

Let’s be totally fair here, Israel would never have colonized Palestine in the first place without the support of the Protestant British government.

I just realized that tone indicator means “/positive” but as someone largely unfamiliar with tone indicators, I thought it meant “/piece of shit” for years. /genuine

Somewhere out there exists a parallel universe where a right-wing political cartoonist made an exact replica of this comic but reversed.

There’s a city in Alaska (I believe it’s Whittier, I could be wrong) where the entire population lives inside of one big building, which also contains a school, a grocery store, and other amenities. If you leave the building and come back after curfew, you can’t get back in until morning.

Someone’s gotta get one of these to The Woz.

Adolescence fucks. I cried during every episode except the first. My God.

I disagree, stand-up isn’t really about, like, proving how funny you are, it’s about putting on a fun show. Anything that makes the audience laugh at no one’s expense is the opposite of hacky, I think.

I hope it has the same tone and story structure as the Mario Movie and the Minecraft Movie.

Rashomon (1950) fucks. The ending is fantastic and I was surprised how much I liked every character in a 1950 movie. It’s funny that all these old ‘human nature’-y Japanese books and movies are like about how shitty humans are and then have one tiny scene at the end like “sometimes they’re okay tho”

Pokemon Red fucks. It’s very charming in a somewhat less sanitized way than the later games in the series. Guyana is canon to Pokemon. I did a poison mono-type run which made it funny whenever an Alakazam went on screen and boss music started playing in my head.

Where I am now is “Al-ki” which translates to something like “by and by” which is way less metal than where I’m from, which is “Ense petit placidam sub libertate quietem,” which translates to “By the sword we seek peace, but peace only through liberty.”

I like it but I think she’d look sportier with a light zip up jacket to go with the swimsuit. It would be a nice contrast to Blue’s muscles too I think.

Bride of Frankenstein was really funny, Frankenstein had a funny voice and some funny lines, and I thought it was funny that in this movie his literal only issue is that he’s really ugly. Helen O’Loy is meh but weird. The conclusion was a bit rushed but interesting to me.

It’s a silent movie so I listened to it with the Frieren soundtrack and it was wildly out of place. I really liked it though, it holds up way better than I’d expect of a movie from 1927.

It was cool but I don’t have depression so it wasn’t a book I’d remember if I didn’t write it down here. It did move me though, I came out with a bit more empathy and understanding than I had before. Even if I wouldn’t have remembered the book itself, its effect on me would’ve stayed.
