Correct and even if this was a Hi-Fi recording this type of fault can still happen to the linear mono audio track.
VCRs can switch between audio tracks.

Perfect opportunity to make a page with parody lyrics for it to scab and poison it.

Dodgy factory firmware, copy protections baked into firmware when it detects certain discs. Older drives are better or patched firmware if you find one for your model.

I should note that DVD Shrink is only good for DVD-Video, if the DVD has anything extra on it DVD Shrink will not back it up.

Yeah YouTube are karens, the adult service videos did well with lots of views though... I guess people are perverts! :D

I couldn't care if my uploads are there or not, their processing is terrible anyway.
I have had Advanced Features taken away from me 3 times. I once got a strange email about one of the auto generated thumbnails for a promo being inappropriate.
I already moved on to better things.

I had a lot of these adult type TVCs on YouTube but decided to remove them to avoid their karen trigger. They really don't like that sort of stuff.

I don't like MakeMKVs forever beta, get a key every so often shenanigans.
DVD Shrink removes the unskippable blocks and makes ISOs, pair that with a RPC1 optical drive and you can backup any DVD-Video.

DVD Shrink also does backup to ISO, still perfectly fine to use today even though the last version came out in 2004.

Then there is the firmware rabbit hole. Most will go slow in certain conditions because 'piracy'. Yep a trigger that makes it inconvenient when it thinks your pirating.
A drive with patched firmware or software tool to change to RPC1 and disable the locks makes the ultimate drive for anything.

I have a USB 2 Optical Drive since 2009 from new. It has 2 USB cables the extra just for power and it works fine.
Portable and laptop drives are generally slower, they are about portability not speed. Desktop drives are better.

Had the same thing, apparently a TV advertisement of the exact release date for Mario Kart Super Circuit in Australia wasn't enough citation.
