Great news. Manchester demonstrates that Northern cities can contribute and grow (faster than the UK average) if given the right investment and support. A strong UK is one where every city is strong. Good step from Reeves & hope this investment makes it to Hull’s ailing transport.

All new builds should be Passive house standard (at a minimum) or energy positive. We also need more support for ordinary people. A lot of people still can’t afford solar, batteries etc The government should help us convert to solar and start generating solar energy in Britain for Britain.

Lower earners are left out of Green energy. We can’t pay thousands, to benefit from grants for heat pumps. We can’t afford to drop £40k on an EV + solar + batteries. But if you’re richer you get the grants, the discounts, cheap green energy. More support for ordinary people too. #TaxTheRich

Homes, not mansions! The only homes that should skip the queue are affordable homes people own to live in or are council owned. Everything else is just greasing the wheels for the wealthy. #TaxTheRich

Profit should never be prioritised before fundamental human rights. Water, Energy, Rail. These are all things that should be publicly owned, publicly run, for the good of everyone and not at the behest of shareholders seeking to enrich themselves via public suffering.
