Guess they didn't background check any of the j6 pardons. Shocking

Brilliant satirical cover from Private Eye, mocking spineless media organisations and journalists who submit and cower in the face of power 👏

I can’t stop crying. I have never felt this low about our country, my daughter’s safety, her right to love who she wants to love…For the racism that’s going to get SO much worse. I’m just sorry. I feel like I tried so hard, WE tried so hard. And we failed. Can’t don’t win silver lining 😢🙏🏼💔🇺🇸

Eggs had better be free.

I don't want China stealing my data, i want my data to be safely on a harddrive on mark Zuckerberg's island compound

What’s corporate greed? Major insurance companies dropping coverage for those suffering from climate disasters.

Friday tradition: ending the week with some shared joy. Tell me something good. What good thing happened in your life this week? Moved in, moved up, or moved on, whatever moved you this week is fine.

To an asshole, all virtue is "virtue signaling."

New: Last Week in Bluesky This week's news: - Bluesky reportedly close a new funding round, valuing the company at 700MUSD - Custom Feed builder @graze.social discusses monetisation plans, showing how ads might come to bsky - Bluesky's issues with bots fediversereport.com/last-week-in...

Just tried to cancel my 2025 trial membership and looks like I missed the cutoff date AGAIN so fuuuuck

Meta officially has become more of a shithole than it was previously. Seems like it’s about time to delete all of my Meta accounts :).

Maybe people wouldn't get so mad at health insurance companies if we accurately described how they work. Paying premiums doesn't buy you care, it buys you the opportunity to pay an unknown amount for care in the future. Hmm ok that may make people more mad actually

The deep goal of bluesky is to decentralize the social internet so that every individual controls their experience of it rather than having it be controlled by 5 random billionaires. Everyone thinks they signed up for a demuskified twitter...we actually signed an exciting and bizarre experiment.

100% accurate.

Now that we've normalized posting each other's texts on the internet I talk to everyone like a cautious politician just in case. Do I want to hang out this weekend? Well let me say first of all how much I appreciate our friendship and I look forward to partnering with you on our shared priorities.

if all health insurance CEOs live in fear of being murdered maybe premiums will come down

The best part of having a corporate job is having a boss that does the same amount of work as you, or less, but makes double the amount of money 😊

Did you know BlueSky only has 20 employees? We would like to say a huge THANK YOU to those 20 warriors (who are working 24/7 to keep up with the incredible growth) for giving us a space to share. We escaped hell to be here. Thank you, @bsky.app & Jay Graber CEO (not a billionaire)

Really excited to listen to the new Kendrick album. I’m waiting until I have the space and attention to listen to it all the way through uninterrupted, and give it the respect it deserves. Hopefully tomorrow

Want to stop guests from coming over? Serve nothing but La Croix. They won’t return.

I think about this a lot as I'm panicking in my shower.

My one constructive criticism on BlueSky, as a community: we need to “like” less and “retweet” more. In the absence of an algorithm, that’s the way we find each other and reward good content.

With a fully remote team of just 20 employees, Bluesky has surpassed 20 million users in its first year since opening to the public and is stealing thunder from rivals hundreds of times its size. At a time when conventional wisdom among bosses is that workers must be in-person to be productive.

Period

I’ve seen enough to make a call: Bluesky is going to be a legit competitor to Twitter. Sweet.
