Base layers. Highlights, low lights, red wash. Shadows and highlights again.

Antiqued the leather parts after dying and painting. After a varnish layer I will cut out the waistband knotwork and glue/sew it onto this basketweave leather

Sanded. Another layer of primer tomorrow to check on missed spots before I move on to a black base coat

Took me some working on and off on it, but the waistband for Halsinā€™s trousers is done. Itā€™s not neat or perfect since I did it all by hand, but I donā€™t care šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

Ok ok I left my bed to take these. Finished tail and belt. The knees still need their lining on the inside but Iā€™m not sure yet now Iā€™m gonna attach them so Iā€™m waiting until Iā€™ve finished the trousers.

Trying to see which of my airbrush paints matches best with my facepaint. Top right is the facepaint. So the colour that matched best also had the most suitable name xD

Yes I made the vest last year but Iā€™m making it properly out of real leather and silk this time. But Iā€™m starting with the trousers.

Covered the tail with low density EVA foam because I didnā€™t want a seam from sewing lycra around it. Iā€™ll texture it during priming

Because I used a combination of 3D print, Eva foam, and foamclay, it is important to make sure everything has the same base layer to avoid any weird finishes that may turn up after applying primer onto the foam. Especially Foamclay and foam will have a weird result. I used Kwikseal andā€¦
