"Hundreds of military children who are students at Defense Department schools across the globe walked out of class to protest book bans, curriculum changes and restrictions on extracurricular activities that have resulted from Trump's crackdown on diversity." www.military.com/daily-news/2...

one thing i think about on passover is that moses had aaron to speak for him to pharaoh. the story revolves in part around advocacy, speaking up for justice and freedom, where others cannot. happy passover to all who celebrate. let’s recommit to speaking up and defending all in need.

How did Whitmer end up in an Oval Office ceremony with Trump, Newsom hosting a MAGA-fluffing podcast, various frontline Dems hedging their trade war critiques, and House Dems preparing not to run on Trump corruption again? I have a grand unified theory. www.offmessage.net/p/how-politi...

BREAKING: An immigration court determined our client Mahmoud Khalil to be removable from the U.S. based solely on his political speech. The fight isn't over — we'll keep fighting for Mahmoud's freedom and all of our First Amendment rights in federal court.

The Smart People said "Abolish ICE" was too radical. Then ICE kidnapped students, sent innocent people to a mega prison, broke into a car to take a mom from her daughter, and tried questioning elementary kids while lying that they had parents permission. Ask yourself: which part is more "radical"?

The Roberts Court, for once, did what it was supposed to do in a unanimous ruling telling Trump to try to bring back Kilmar Abrego Garcia, the man the administration said they accidentally sent to an overseas gulag for life. We are in a very dangerous moment. www.theatlantic.com/politics/arc...

This is shameful behavior from a member of the United States Congress. Whether or not Rep. Fine agrees with Reb. Tlaib or thinks she should be in Congress, she's a duly elected member, an American, and deserves better than racist smears from a colleague. Language like this makes everyone less safe.

BREAKING: Becoming the first county in the nation to move forward, Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors UNANIMOUSLY PASSES referral for a study of independent Know-Your-Rights training for fast food workers.

The Republican tariffs are an existential threat to places like Oakland Chinatown and other immigrant neighborhoods, many of which were already struggling. A lot of the product is imported and a lot of the customers are low income. State & local policy will need to move quickly to save them.

Proud to be part of the UC At a special meeting today, the Academic Council unanimously endorsed The Defense of the University, a statement reaffirming UC’s public mission amid growing national threats to higher education. #HigherEd #AcademicSky #AcademicFreedom

ELECTION RESULT: A team of city council members in Rolla, Missouri, have been pushing anti-LGTB policies, including a ban on drag shows and book censorship. Voters just ousted all three of these city councilors who were running for reelection, backing candidates backed by a local LGBT group.

American citizens who support anti-genocide protesters are not safe.

Penn said none of the visa revocations appear to be related to student protest activity, for which President Donald Trump’s administration has been targeting international students on other college campuses.

This AM all @uofcalifornia.bsky.social leadership received this letter from the Council of UC Faculty Associations and University Council-AFT Local 1474 urging UC President Drake to urgently address visa revocations & deportation of international students, with 5 demands. cucfa.org/2025/04/addr...

In more uplifting news, 1,000 people protested ICE’s abduction of a mother and children at the home of the agency’s acting head Tom Homan. Notably, the entire population of the town is just 1,450. www.syracuse.com/state/2025/0...

“Facing pressure to scrub its website of diversity and inclusion references, a Japanese American National Museum leader says the museum will ‘scrub nothing.’” 🔥

They are now estimating 2.3 million across the country. Keep it going folks. #handsoff #50501protests

A mother and her three children were snatched by ICE from a dairy farm in Sackets Harbor, a rural town in northern New York. But the location is no coincidence—Tom Homan, Trump’s border czar, LIVES THERE. He allowed his own neighbors, including a third grader, to be jailed. Deplorable.

Imagine spending a half million dollars to attend Police State University, where you’ll get to experience NYPD brutality up close and where they might just revoke your degree for wrongthink even after you’ve graduated.

After all the discourse over whether super-intelligent, ultra-powerful AI is coming, we now have a prime example of exactly how AI is massively disruptive, today: When it is used by lazy, reckless, and malicious people in power. Welcome to the age of AI-generated economic collapse, everyone

Thanks to @slate.com for allowing me to tell the story of radical lawyer Carol Weiss King and how her victory in Bridges v. Wixon protects the due process and free speech rights of noncitizens such as Mahmoud Khalil and Rumeysa Ozturk. slate.com/news-and-pol...

“Stop harassing people for their homes.” In NYC, the fight for rent stabilization continues. Six years after the passage of landmark tenants’ rights legislation, landlords are getting creative—& tenants are getting organized, Dana Edwards reports.

“In December, the 335-unit complex was acquired by the Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles, which is in the process of turning it into a mixed-income property, while retaining the luxury amenities.” More like this www.latimes.com/california/s...
