For a time, it helped me keeping a diary. Esp. games like Life is Strange 1+2, Night in the Woods etc. I'd play and write what I thought of the story and then continued to write about my day. The diaries in these games somehow also motivated me to keep on writing.

I knew immediately it must have been a hbomberguy video lol So many video essays from this channel are comfort rewatches for me. However I also tend to watch a lot of videos about horror games and why their genius or unknown or special. Somehow stuff like this always gets me.
