stepping into a distant past where wikipedia articles weren’t buried on page 3, lying AI bullshit wasn’t the first thing you see, and you could properly view images without having to scroll through 50 ads on a page to end up saving a webp file

Yeah that’s a good point, like we’re so accelerated at this point that a huge change is basically going to happen one way or another.

I agree completely. Someone said the only good small businesses are co-ops and I like that idea, but there’s a lot of small businesses that later turn into co-ops. I feel like it’s harder for a co-op to take off than it is for there to be a conversion

I’m very poor, and rich is not something I especially strive to be, but I do feel that if my resources were plentiful I could do more good for my community. Ultimately a far bigger change is needed but wouldn’t there be a transitional period?

I feel like I always circle around to, wouldn’t some of those small business owners be very on our side when it came down to it, and also we need to do the most we can within the system as well as live, so shouldn’t we try and be job-making ACTUALLY ethical “small business owners?”

genuine, non-argumentative: how does this idea compare against Mao’s ideas of the owner-peasant and Deng’s idea of “Poverty isn’t socialism?”
I pretty much agree with you but I reckon with these things

For me, my latter teen years going into early college were the absolute toughest, so much to deconstruct and rebuild from my home life to being on my own, families are fucking crazy. You’re a lot more than people who don’t appreciate you may imply, and that can very often include even yourself.

If the people around you right now don’t love you properly, you’ll eventually find ones that will. Having lived with family and various friends and partners, they all created different environments and; it’s almost like living in different worlds.

He was right. Go make your movie. The one ur afraid to make. The one no one is ever going to give you permission to make. The one you know in your gut you can and SHOULD make. If you need a greenlight, here it is. Look to your left and your right - ask those friends to make a movie with you. do it

and if he’s one of the only ones that will work to try and influence public opinion and politics, which is a seemingly forgotten job of the party, then I think that makes him the face of the movement, and therefore the party

I agree, Bernie is absolutely slacking as a congressman and his voting record has disappointed me a few times now.
But I believe that as a populist activist, he can still help create change better than he himself has brought. If he is willing to get on the ground and hold rallies, I support that-

And I want to note when I say democrat party, I don’t mean the voters, I mean the politicians. At this point it feels like they’re trying to just keep us calm and to trust the system, but it’s really not the time for that, and I don’t know that we have til midterms.
comment in response to

To me the problem is that the democrat party isn’t just inactive, it’s a roadblock. When we only have a handful of them putting in the work, the others are a dead weight. You’re right, we need everyone mobilized and shouldn’t fight, but we don’t all agree on what’s immediately necessary and it sucks

Nah it’s because I unfortunately think a mix of misinformation and lack of overall information about the conversation on your part doesn’t make it worth continuing. Saying Stalin was pro-Hitler is like Kindergarten lib shit that only empowers fascists, so really this time, I’m out.

I’m literally just speaking historical context to you and you’re mad about it because it doesn’t align with your beliefs. I’m from the rural deep south and think you’re wrong about that. Look up Huey Long sometime.
Anyway, I’m out because this is pointless, but good luck and I hope you come around

Well neoliberalism is based on social democracy which only furthers my point. And Hitler wasn’t a monarchist he was a fascist that used the name of “Socialism” and populist, pseudo-working class views to get elected by the common German.

You need to know that the origins of Fascism are a distorted Nationalist form of Communism, the reason people are “like me” is because we know that Liberalism cannot effectively push it back. Look at pre-WW2 Germany, the mobilized workers pushed back a fascist coup, handed the reins back to the-

Look, I know we’re on the same side here, I see you shared AOC’s recent post and her point is what’s important here.
My point is that I believe that the people doing work like AOC and Bernie are the party’s most critical members at this time, and the party needs to act like it or we’re here forever

If there is a person with mass political influence over a party’s voters, they are de facto the party’s leader. Trump went unelected for 4 years and that didn’t change his influence in the party because the party knew that he is popular with the people so his policies remained in tact. Even withdems

You’re thinking far too small and within a busted system that is actively failing us. It doesn’t matter who is officially what, the people on the ground actively rallying the masses are the only ones that are going to do anything, and it’s the only people the masses will ever respect.
comment in response to

And he has that job for a reason, but it is currently everyone’s job to rally their constituents right now, every single Democratic politician should be moving en masse to mobilize their voter base, but aside from the usual gang, all they have is “We can’t do anything.” It’s absolutely ridiculous.

Dear US Liberal,
Actually get on board with fucking doing something or shove your smug attitude up your ass. While Democrats sit and shrug, Bernie is once a fucking gain rallying around the country trying to start grassroots movements because it’s the only thing that’ll save us
Sincerely,
Fuck you
