OTOH, I'm not sure what "lon ma ni la" means. It's not just "in this land", because that doesn't need a lon.
Same thing with "lon ni la".
Anyway, very interesting story there! I had fun translating it.

The use of "la" at the start of a sentence was unexpected, but I assumed it was supposed to apply to the whole previous sentence and it worked.

but I'm not sure what is "ma kulupu pi suno sewi", and I definitely don't know what that mi is doing.
kon pi pimeja moku probably isn't supposed to be spirit of edible darkness, but moku is for sure modifying pimeja.
ilo suno pana is also probably something specific I didn't catch.

sewi ... li pilin mi e pona la mi ma kulupu pi suno sewi - I translated it as "made my feelings into good", but "sewi ... li pona e pilin mi" is a better sentence for that imo. But I'm not sure what else it could mean.
The second part is also weird. "ma kulupu suno" I think is the name of the land,+
