9/ The tariffs are DESIGNED to create economic hardship. Why? So that Trump has a straight face rationale for releasing them, business by business or industry by industry. As he adjusts or grants relief, it’s a win-win: the economy improves and dissent disappears.

I think the main question is whether the Dems have the political will to at least put conditions on raising the debt ceiling. Because otherwise, the money borrowed will likely flow directly into rump and mush’s pockets.

3/ Which you’d absolutely expect to see. It’s being very lightly reported in the news, but we haven’t seen any major, coordinated actions online or in the news. I’m not entirely sure that’s because nothing is happening. I think it’s because social media in particular is censoring it.

/2 If this happens, people both inside and outside the US will not be able to see what they are doing. How will that possible? We’re already sort of seeing this. There have been reports here and there of ICE raids or at least intimidation. But we haven’t seen a ton of SM outcry.
