I agree with OP’s outrage but don’t want to normalize the idea that childhood preventable illnesses are less outrageous - or less preventable! in low-income countries or regions
Though if this goes on much longer, they will be less common there than in the US anyway.

Concur. Forgive the cynicism - to put it more brightly, I will say that global health has already been a lot more in the spotlight in the US in the last few weeks than I’ve seen since at least the mid 2000s.

My only hope is that Americans learn (the hard way) how much impact USAID makes on such a small budget- like all of global health.
But I don’t know how many people will need to suffer and die until or unless that happens.

I completely agree that the tech bros in charge are engaging in breathtakingly stupid and obedient behavior, with this type of result.
