Jenner was too challenging to their frail idea of "masculinity" and related "morals". So they broke and all that hate underneath those "morals" began to show.

In a lot of ways, this makes them more dangerous.

There's the $$$ question. I really dont give a shit what you think of whoever is to the left or right of you politically. This is not politics as normal. Will you be there to use what power you have to fight a common fascist enemy when the time comes? That is all that matters.

So my response on the other thread was to the advocating of harrassment towards them as some twisted way to bring them to our side and fight in ways we would want them to. Just not helpful or a great use of energy in times when we need all that we can muster.

I think we agree. I do get hung up on the ways we demand that others fight alongside of us. The Obamas arent in office, nor are they a corporation. And to my cult of personality comment, they are not our saviors.

Notice how quickly this thread flew off the rails to the point about everyone is arguing about the Obamas and losing focus on the actual real life faschits in power right now?

Absolutely not. Primary the hell out of Schumer. Harrass private citizens in public for not speaking out in the way you'd want them to? I do not see that as helpful. My point is that our energy is better spent on the areas in which we can fight with the fighters that have already shown up.

I agree that policing rudeness or enforcing decorum is a cover for cowardice. Advocating harrassment of potential allies is beyond either of those things. I also dont agree that the Obamas have some special responsibility to help that is outside of what we hold ourselves to.

The danger of becoming divisive to the point that it dilutes our power to effect change - or worse - becoming that which we hate is a very real danger and is easily exploited by those that would see us powerless and hate filled.

Assuming we are still having this conversation and disregarding your attempt at insult, the post advocated for harrassing the Obamas for not doing what we want them to. Is there possibly another way to encorage potential allies to join us in this? Because we cant primary them, we harrass?

Been said elsewhere, but stop looking to other people to fix your problems, motivate you, or educate you. The cult of personality is how we got here in the first place.

The full name is opinion poll. Say it with me - Opinions are like ______. Everyone has one and they all stink. The work that is necessary to recover from this and those who will do that work will not show up in a legacy media poll biased towards polarizing the people and taking away their power

3rd party votes are R votes that just make you feel better about yourself. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and do the hard work of shaping the party to authentically represent what you want it to be. There's room for you here.

I'd love to hear their answers for this vote to their constituents. Imagine naively hoping that this is still a normal political landscape.

Think we broke it, but it was fun. Thank you for sharing

Would also accept Stand as a reasonable response.

Time for a subpeona. They get away with this because there are no consequences.

Remember the fascists who are actively dismantling our country. Remember, we dont need to have perfect allies in this fight, just one's who wont give up on our shared values. And most importantly, remember that you are not alone.

Its a divisive tactic meant to make you feel isolated and alone. Like others arent doing enough and its all on you. Asymetrical info co-opts all of the anger we rightly have towards this administration and redirects it towards those who stand with us, also opposing this treason.

We have to start to ask ourselves if there is a legacy media shadow ban on the opposition response. How much coverage did the President's Day protests get on the front page of your chosen news ecosystem?
