I was tested aged eleven and was apparently 140+. Whole heap of good that's done me; every job interviewer's asked me about my IQ level #steamrollerirony

Probably the most focused band rock has seen. They know what they're good at and they stick to it. A bit like the Ramones in that respect.

I remember all of it happening. Lee Konitz, Ellis Marsalis Jr, Giuseppe Logan, Henry Grimes, Eddie Large, Tim Brooke-Taylor, Trini Lopez, Manu Dibango, Wallace Roney, Hilary Dwyer, Bucky Pizzarelli, Cristina, Christophe, Matthew Seligman, Norman Hunter, Trevor Cherry,Dave Greenfield, too many others

Flashback to five years ago - "buying an Easter Egg? That's not ESSENTIAL - you're under arrest!" What horrors of an anti-society we narrowly escaped.

It isn't connecting, that's the thing, and because of the way I've been my whole life I am useless at "selling" my writing. It's there - no big, controversial agenda, no shouting, and that's all people frankly have ever seemed to want.

Which I've been trying to do - look at my TL. But always with minimal response. Nobody wants to engage with me at all. See what I said about it happening in other places; it isn't just here. People see me and cross over to the other side of the metaphorical road, or more likely never see me at all.

How come I've managed to write two, then? One got published the day of William & Kate's wedding in April 2011 and sold at best a few hundred, and I can't find a publisher for the second so am serialising it here (see my profile for "Life" link).
