Scored with three new moths last night. Four-spotted Footman, Epiblema foenella and Batrachedra pinicolella (or confusela). Grantham, Lincs. #Teammoth @andysims49.bsky.social

Not even dark yet but a beautiful Swallow-tailed Moth in the garden. #Teammoth

Me to farmer: "Would be good if you could start providing field margins again." Farmer: "They [the government/defra] don't pay us enough for that I'm afraid" This was just a minute after he told me they were being paid to plant winter birdfeed cover mix in vacant fields. Bonkers.

A Green Sandpiper back at Marston, Lincs. May is the only month we don't see them. #lincsbirding

Low WeBS count due to poor viewing, thick vegetation. Saw 6 bird of prey species. @webs-gsmp.bsky.social CR sightings passed to ringer.

Thought our tadpoles weren't growing very fast, put some mini cucumber in and they were straight on it!

I went to look for the Red-footed Falcon found by the farmer in his tractor at Fenton, nr. Claypole, Lincs. Watched it hawking insects for 45mins. but no show later. #ukbirding #lincsbirding distantly digiscoped.

Popped a garden pond in! Building one on a slope bit of a challenge.😄😄

Hedge on left overcut and swamped by vegetation, hedge on right left to look like a hedge and full of insects.

Thrush woz ere. Song Thrush's anvil. #UKbirding

Trapping went well at Barrowby churchyard as part of their bio-blitz week. Some nice moffs.

Huge variation but got a feeling these may all be Ingrailed Clay? #Teammoth

Another visit to Teal lake for the Ibis, still there and found this Red-necked Phalarope, first record for @whisbynaturepark.bsky.social @lincsbirding.bsky.social @btobirds.bsky.social

Hawthorn Shield Bugs.

My doodle of the Marston Hepatic Cuckoo turned a bit cartoony but I quite like it.

Best addition so far to the oddities list. 😀 @suffolkseawatcher.bsky.social #ukbirding

A Beautiful Golden Y, followed by some Carpet moths in natural habitat. #Teammoth

Still at Marston, being chased all over by the male this evening. Several very annoyed Reed Buntings buzzing the male.
