Nakedly ambitious, running for president his entire life. Listen to his podcast, he’d turn maga like his ex to get elected president. “Progressive” in social messaging but not particularly in economics. 6 years as gov but has largely failed to grease the wheels for high speed rail or for housing.

I mean, don’t think you get an informed society by goading people on old irrelevant talking points either. If egg prices spike again, then you can do that explaining, but most people are gonna be like, “but they’re cheaper now,” and you’ll be talking to a wall.

We’re a dumb society. “Look he took over and it’s better,” is about as deep as anyone will go. Poasting about eggs when they cost significantly less, like you just don’t look at data or google anything ever seems like a bad plan.

Probably not the thing to flex on right now.

Blanket preemptive pardon unless she crosses Trump before he’s out of office. Almost none of them will be in jail, ever.

Chosen by the Trump administration. Another way to look at & see it clearly without endorsing rioters: electing Donald Trump creates this incendiary behavior from civilians and law enforcement as a matter of course. 2/2

Can’t control what media covers. Stating truthfully that LA (& other cities) deal with riots that are more widespread after winning a championship should be a standard starting point for media professionals even if they are discussing the unfortunate visuals. As should the provocative action 1/2

Maybe just talk shit about how worthless all the things they do are. Meaningless, ornamental changes like this remind me of when San Francisco wanted to change names of elementary schools instead of spending that money to better teach kids. And republicans endlessly shit on that virtue signaling.

Polling is a bad thing to draw any real conclusions from. “Democracy” was important to voters leading up to the election. But “democracy” seemed under threat to both democratic and republican voters. “Corporations have too much power” codes both left and right as well, cuz of anti-woke framing.

I think Hunter having any pull in the white house (whenever it began) is unfortunate for being both scandalous and for giving the hint of legitimacy to years of right wing propagandizing.

The early 00s was when I saw a bunch of industrial and commercial properties get bought up to be developed. 21-24 was when those properties finally got developed.

On SALT, being taxed on taxes you’ve paid is bad on principle. Raising tax rates on the wealthy is important, but it was a Trump policy to punish blue states in the first place. So what is the principle that is correct? Dems shouldn’t vote for it, but opposing double taxation is good.

Barely relevant since Weigel left.

Woah unto the democrats if they get flanked on an issue they were afraid to defend ‘cuz socialism.’

The hypocrisy angle never works. Failure to actually get it done is only somewhat resonant. If they pull it off, stick to it, and force socialized medicine in any measure down the throat of republicans the Bernie corps will inch closer to full throated support for whatever corruption he does.

Gonna be further downstream. Noted the profit increases from visa & mastercard as indicators at the moment. First the balances increase, then the spending slows.

Percentage framing is mostly bad. People feel misled when shown the real numbers. ‘Surged from x to y out of average z,’ is better.

It wasn’t the first year, it was all the years til the executive action right before the election. But mainly being dutiful and working behind the scenes isn’t a way to govern successfully right now. Need to do a tv show.
