You must mean “non-Black Americans”? Or there’s a hidden cultural feud with Jamaica and Nigeria I didn’t know about?

Ok, helpful replies, turns out you the system won't let you rank everyone.
What I'd suggest: skip the candidate you dislike, sure, but if you're going to the trouble of voting, do enough homework to know who the top 3 candidates are, and *always* rank 2 of those, even if you don't like them much.

Ah, it's the 5-vote limit that is the problem.

If you rank them last, your ballot can never go to them. The issue, I guess, is with people who leave off multiple candidates.
The advice could be: pick the candidate who you most want to lose, and leave them off. Rank anyone else you recognize, even if you don’t like them much.

How is “don’t rank them” different than “rank them last”? Except in the situation where you don’t rank 2 viable candidates, and in that case this seems like horrible advice.

Will the courts stop it because it’s ridiculously arbitrary and excessive? Yes, of course. Will the president then be impeached because he thinks he’s a king and 90% of voters are repulsed by him setting fire to our core values? Sadly, no.

To channel @volts.wtf, the policy positions Democratic officials take are irrelevant if nobody knows what their policy positions actually are.

"progressive activists police our language, attempting to shame those who step out of line"
"Insisting on new and controversial terms like 'pregnant people'"
"pressured to introduce themselves with their pronouns"
As usual, the problem is not Democrats, it's the caricature of Democrats.

In the happy event that the Democrats can form a Senate majority some day soon, I sure hope they're all clear-eyed enough to understand that a functioning US government cannot exist if every bill that needs to pass needs 8-10 Republican votes. One budget bill a year is not going to cut it.

FWIW, I read this as saying they’ll give a consolation medal to a 2nd-place cis girl. Not a separate division, just a special rule for the awarding of medals. (Not great, but not straight-up excluding trans girls.)

Also for context, reductions in IRS funding/activities are expected to lose $500 billion in revenue this year.

Of course noting that one person somewhere could still be upset/radicalized is not a very useful observation, but I also think that the difference between number of people who feel targeted by exclusive messaging (“future is female”) and inclusive messaging (“everyone is welcome”) is not huge.

Replace that t-shirt with the gender-oriented equivalent of “Everyone is welcome here” (with raised hands in different skin tones). Is it still perceived as a threat?
I’m not sure there’s any clever way to erode male privilege without some men feeling threatened.

I do not understand how you could make this list without Hot To Go. It's like making a list of movie musicals about witches and leaving off Wicked.

Jan–May 2025: Deliberately failing to enforce established federal regulations across government departments, without following the legally-mandated processes to update those regulations. Rewarding businesses that break the law.

May 19, 2025: Revoking the protected status of 350,000 Venezuelan refugees, even though conditions have not improved in their home country. These immigrants will no longer be authorized to work and will be added to the undocumented population.

May 20, 2025: Ending the practice of approving annual Covid boosters alongside annual flu shots for the general population. Introducing new bureaucratic barriers that make it harder to respond to disease mutations. (In the US, Covid is killing around 40k people/yr, similar to car accident deaths.)

Today's action is the single largest mass-illegalization event in US history.
350,000 people woke up this morning with legal status, living and working here with official permission. They'll go to bed as undocumented immigrants facing deportation.

It’s probably naive, but it seems like they could have just… done nothing in 2022, kept a core of Rudy/Donovan/Mike/Jordan, and been a fun team to watch in the playoffs every year.
