The most game-changing (literally) spells at each spell level. These are spells that you, as a DM, should anticipate as they can quickly disrupt your narrative. Level 1: charm person. A great spell for getting around roadblock NPCs, this’ll force you to think fast.

How to speed up combat for 5e: When you’ve got a group of newbs or a large party (6+), combat can be a slog. Here’s a few tricks for speeding things up. 1) Use passive Stealth and Initiative for monsters. The 2025 MM offers passive init scores. Stealth is just 10 + Dex or skill.
