21st century version of “if it bleeds, it leads”.

i wonder how much of our collective misery over the past few years has been exacerbated that we're increasingly stuck in social media worlds where the second we indicate we like something, we get a firehose to the face of people who hated it.
it's weird!

and I fully support people being mad and making whatever content they want, but I do wonder if I'm just broken sometimes because I am drawn to people who are excited about things, when every algo out there is like "want to be mad? how about madder? want to HATE THIS THING?"

…that was supposed to be crafts? Autocorrect why 😅
But seriously people get SO DAMN DEFENSIVE when even asked gently to reconsider. Anything from “fuck off” to “it’s fine I just think it’s cute 🥰 ✨“.
It’s not something you need! At all! There are other tools! Pay an artist! (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

This is super cute and pretty! Love that you included your cat!
All the people trying to excuse using genAI as “it’s just harmless fun!” are so damn frustrating.

Saw a video on Facebook just last week where a couple dozen people were vehemently defending their right to be conservative and goth and my brain was going to melt.
Like, do you not realize that 99% of the people you share a political alignment with think you're evil and going to Hell?

Well, not with that attitude. 😏

The whole setting is very fey and elemental focused. Influenced by things like Labyrinth, Legend (the 80s movie), Dragonslayer, Record of Lodoss War, A Midsummer Night's Dream, The Tempest, Game of Thrones, Dragonlance, Willow, the music of Blackmore's Night, Loreena McKennitt, and Van Canto, etc.

Oh, and there are a many raven aarakocra who live around the western hills and mountains, and goliaths who live in the eastern mountains.
Life in and around the cities is largely defined by guilds, including several adventurers' guilds. (Influenced by my time working at the soCal Ren Faire. lol)

The war was won in part thanks to a group of dwarves and goblins working together and creating warforged, which are elemental spirits summoned and bound in "armor". This is also very controversial. Most of these were destroyed in the war, but at least one village still produces them.

At one point not too long ago, there was a small war instigated by a powerful sorceress and her army, which is how the wasteland came into existence. It was once woodland, but now the trees are all petrified as a result of magic.

One of the current human rulers shares their city with an elf partner, which has caused controversy. Most are happy about it, though, and are hoping that some past animosities and cruelties can be addressed and undone.
The dwarves just go about their business trading with everyone.

They mostly retreated to the southern forests as the humans expanded their settlements. No outright conflict occurred but there were tensions. It wasn't until a few generations later that an accord was reached.

The valley has 3 mostly-human populated cities. Each ruled by relatives after one monarch split the realm among her heirs. There is, of course, as is custom, one dwarf city and one elf city.
The elves, though, used to live in the plains, too. Before the humans arrived by sea.

Dunno if it helps, but I have 20+ boards of fantasy art, each with about 500 pins. All curated pre-genAI garbage fad.

I hear you. That's like 50% of why I decided to. haha
I don't repin art unless it links to an artists' page either. I have a whole private board full of art that I occasionally reverse search to find the artist.

You’re welcome!
99% of them should link directly to artists pages, DeviantArt, or ArtStation, as well.
