Labour, Tories and Reform all chasing the "pig-ignorant racist" vote, while the progressive majority watch on in astonishment, fury and disgust...

Release of the full Russia report and a criminal investigation into the Brexit referendum would be the place to start. Farage is a traitor who willingly caused huge damage to this country in the service of Putin and the super-rich. LibDems need to work with Lab backbenchers to push this issue.

Absolutely right. We urgently need a backbench rebellion. Demand a total clear-out of Starmer's right-wing, pro-Brexit advisors, or else threaten a leadership challenge. The huge progressive majority in this country didn't vote for any of this Daily Mail-appeasing bollocks.

Lab backbenchers urgently need to grow a collective spine and demand change: either Starmer ditches his entire team of right-wing pro-Brexit advisors, or he faces a leadership challenge.

How much of this is down to Starmer reportedly having pro-Brexit advisors? If it's true he's something of an empty vessel, then the people around him can wield a lot of influence. So much damage is being done...

The situation in the UK is far worse. Over 14 yrs of Tory rule almost the entire media ignored or played down hundreds of scandals, any one of which would have been used to destroy a Labour government. And the BBC was perhaps the worst offender.

Time for multinationals to be taxed on their UK turnover if they don't report accurate profits.

Governing solely for the approval of the Daily Mail and only ever interested in the Pig-Ignorant-Racist vote. Astonishing that nobody in his team can see how this will end in disaster. Need a huge back bench rebellion in alliance with LibDems to force a new direction.

For every illegal spill they should be forced to hand a percentage of their shares to the government. That would be the best way to take them back into public ownership.

This doesn't go far enough, but more importantly, what kind of sanctions will apply to breaches of the rules? The only effective punishment would have to be prison sentences for the recipient, rather than the donor; anything else will be evaded or ignored.

The pandemic procurement was probably the single biggest financial crime in British history. Dozens of people should be facing long prison sentences, including many former Tory ministers and MPs. Labour, invariably, will be too scared of it "looking political" to take any action.

I feel like every decision they make is based on just one question: will the Daily Mail approve? Quite extraordinary that a govt with such a huge majority is so petrified about actually doing anything useful, never mind radical - especially when the price of their timidity could be facism

I regard BBC news as the media arm of Tufton Street, happily aligned with the far right at home and abroad. What's baffling and enraging is that Labour didn't instigate huge personnel changes throughout the organisation. Every day they delay brings us closer to Trump style fascism.

It seems to me that he identifies the key problem here without realising he's identified it: the media! Without their constant lies and distortions, and the influence they wield over voters (and thus politicians) we could have a far more sensible policy on immigration.

If they want to "disrupt" things they can get started on massive changes to the media landscape, party funding, electoral laws, lobbying. Windfall taxes on profiteering banks, supermarkets, energy companies. Actual criminal investigations into the Brexit referendum & Johnson-era financial corruption
