I run a NAS built around an old computer with 3 hard drives connected to it and running ZFS on them with 1 redundancy drive. That way you can tolerate 1 drive failure without losing any data. OpenMediaVault and TrueNAS are good software options for this.

Well jtag appears to be disabled, but I did find UART spitting out some numbers during startup. I guess the next step would be to look into the firmware and see what's that about.
