I believe there's a couple of billion trees in Scotland and more being planted every year.
At the beginning of the 20th century, 5% of Scotland was trees. Today it's about 17%.

The lift was awaiting repairs after the fire during our stay, which was a shame. Walking back into town got the heart pumping though.

We only visited for the day, but fell in love with the place. We were holidaying in Saltburn at the time, which we also loved.
We live about as far from the sea as it's possible to be in the UK, so it's a treat for us. The Peak District is on our doorstep though, so don't feel too sorry for us.😀
