Granted they were born out of their own kind of burnout (autistic burnout, which I didn't know was happening) but the association between leisure = failure has been made so strongly that it makes me anxious.
Learning to reassociate leisure with productivity has been-- difficult.

I honestly think some of it is overcorrecting. A lot of us are ND/ADHD, and any relaxation feels - at least to me - like I'm fucking up somehow/returning to old, bad habits. And there's terror in there because those habits were as comfortable as they were destructive.

I only ever saw it as a stoned 20something so my connection to it was mostly bafflement at the hard swing that took.
I did like the movie overall but man, I think I seriously could've used the backbone of the original to really feel it.

Yeah I know people who were genuinely moved by it and I honestly envy them but the brutality of that scene and THE TIMING had me howling.
I have never seen 'the thin line between comedy and tragedy' illustrated so beautifully in my life.
