I’m concerned about www.fiftyfifty.one It claims to be a decentralized resistance group (resistance to the current authoritarian regime in the US). Maybe it is. Maybe it’s a bunch of sock puppets. It gives very vague information about itself and its rallies. Anyone know anything?

Snow on Wednesday, sun on Thursday. Same tree, almost same angle.

Several conversations today w people in the key executive departments. And while the particulars are hard to pin down my impression is that the Musk take over stuff is considerably worse than is being presented in the press. By this I don’t necessarily things they *done* yet but the level of …

That’s such an “awkward gesture.”

I’m enjoying this campaign:

My house painting project turned a corner Friday, with help from my supervisor Marco. (Marco is in this photo, looking over the bottom rail of the porch where I’ve just removed the balusters.)

I see Bret Stephens and I both dropped columns about who the good and bad Jews are. I’d prefer it if you read mine.

It is in fact amazing to me how many things I've lived through are now "old people" things. TV static. Rotary phones. 8-track tapes. The universal agreement that being a Nazi was a bad thing. New Coke!

not sure if @drvolts.bsky.social will be reposting this whole thread here, so in case he isn't, this all seems timely

They are legislating what people can do with their bodies. They are legislating a major health issue. That pisses people off. In only one year, we are seeing the effect in maternal and child mortality. And maybe, just maybe, men can see their bodies eventually being legislated too.

We watched the premiere of the new opera “Grounded” last night at the Kennedy Center, put on by the Washington National opera. It was a very good performance and a great theatrical experience. /1 #grounded #opera #WNO #washingtonnationalopera
