Giving access to SSNs, other data on government employees to non-employees like Musk is a violation of 5 USC 552a, and carries with it a penalty of $1000 per person whose data was accessed. We are building a case. Govt employees who want to participate should contact me directly

Will there be a transcript available for those of us who prefer to read? Thank you.

I’m pretty sure he planned it and did it for two reasons:
1) It reflects his ideology.
2) It’s wooing Steve Bannon’s depraved base.
Bannon doesn’t stand a chance. They’re both completely vile and evil, but Bannon is also stupid and not rich.

The gesture could conceivably indicate support for fascism, including the Mussolini or Franco sort, not merely Nazism (although of course it includes Nazism.)
It’s also Musk signaling directly to the Bannonite MAGA base that he’s pure.

I believe he planned it and did it for (at least) these two reasons:
1) It reflects his ideology.
2) He’s wooing Steve Bannon’s depraved base because Bannon has been openly saying he’ll get rid of Musk.
Bannon hasn’t got a prayer in this fight.

I’ve met him too, back around 1993 or so. He wasn’t even close to 6’. I’d guess 5’8” maybe.

What people often miss when they argue the current push against Black people in public life is merely an elite affair is the fact that the success of these movements signals to others what’s now accepted for them to do.

This is perfect:
“Generally, we don’t have a crisis of overthinking in our culture.”

I went to the site and bought the issue. My credit card was charged. I haven’t received the promised PDF. Bummer!
I have clicked on the “contact” link and asked about this but no word yet…

Ok, I ambled on over to discord site and created an account and followed the invitation. As far as I can tell there’s no discussion of the 🐑📖 at all.
I’m sure the problem is my woolly brain, or maybe this whole trip is a clever way to inject anomie and loneliness into one’s life? Where’s my flock?

I'm gonna toss in here one of my usual topics: They can't see the effect of women's rights because they don't see women as political actors.
Literally can. not. see.

The WaPo review is out and it’s weird.
The reviewer seems upset that the story the opera tells isn’t the story the reviewer wanted.

We were disappointed in the music—didn’t hate it but wouldn’t choose to listen to it again. The libretto also seemed to leave a few gaping holes in the plot. Classical operas often have huge holes in their plots, but that’s where great music comes in and makes me not care.

Given what the story is about I was afraid of being preached at and it was a relief not to feel like that.
So we recommend it.

The set was amazingly well done, very high tech but not distracting — instead the tech helped tell the story. The performers were strong. The script has a lot of good humor too, and strong bits of dialogue.
Like all good live shows it gave us energy and lots to talk about and think about.
