It would be amazing to get something like tower to work but yeah, I think like you say, time differences are often the bottleneck. I’m keen to attempt some live URL stuff once I’ve got this hardware set up figured out. Having this gig has been a huge motivator to help me get my shit together

We need some sort of spatial vortex to connect us!!

I am actually horrible at self-promotion. This skeet is like “do you want to watch me, a guy with no confidence, fuck up in public?”. I’m going for the schadenfreude dollar with this promotional strategy!

Ahh shit I completely missed this coz I keep forgetting to use this website. I wish everyone had the opportunity to get smarter without putting their future selves in hock!!

At the end of last year I self-released an ep on a whim that I completely forgot to promote so it’s been like the tree falling in the forest with no one around doktorb.bandcamp.com/album/a-fina...

Thank you!!!! I’ve never been one for recreating something which already exists. I’m more into trying to channel the spirit and vibes of a project in new and exciting ways

Speaking of future doktorb, I’m currently getting ready for an IRL gig, trying to recreate live improvised doktorb using a soft sampler, drum machine and electrified kalimba/fx. Currently deep in the “dear god wtf am I doing” phase of experimentation.

I love this video, you can see the moment when I realised “Football” was a reference to soccer and not gridiron, but I’d invested too much in the glitching of footage to let go. So it just turned into a mess of footballs which was kind of fitting and served as the jump off point for the liner notes

I think Smile 2 was one of my favourite movies of last year

I love Smile and totally agree that the soundtrack is incredible! The sequel is amazing, maybe even better than the first movie.

I've got a DVD of My Winnipeg and a couple of others downloaded which I can pass onto you if you're keen.

Halloween 4 & 5 are such comfort movies for me. I enjoy the way they are simultaneously two halves of the same story but also contrast tonally in such a weird way. 4 is quite atmospheric and brooding but then 5 gets really zany. Also I am in the camp that loves the unravelling Loomis character arc!

The thing about the internet is, there's always someone somewhere who is inexplicably passionate about the very thing you can't stand. It's so easy to think "maybe I judged it harshly" and waste another 3+ hours of your life re-evaluating. That's exactly why I rewatched the original

That's true of so many Stephen King adaptations!!!!!

So good!! Vaporwave is worth it for the community lore alone!!!

I haven't seen One for the Heart but after this convo I think I'll avoid it like the plague

I'm talking about his post-trainwreck years, movies like Twixt (2011) that push through the pain barrier into something special in its unwatchable awfulness. But yes, I have no doubt in my mind that Megalopolis is going to misread the room!!
