That pressure is fun when you first start I bet. But then when you feel like it’s expected it gets hard.

I'm a big fan, it's sold everywhere in Cleveland. Some cheap bars even have it on tap.

Yeah I stopped paying as well. I totally get that it’s a service worth paying for if it will host 200+ episodes of my show but once they started booting my shows and not notifying me I decided to stop paying for it.

that was very nice of you. Send me your address in dm and I’ll replace yours!

I really loved it for years, but in the last two they seem to have changed some things regarding copyright. My particular problem might be magnified because I have over 200 shows posted so when I found out 40 of them got booted without them telling me I was surprised.

Add this to the list of reasons that I have been trying to move everything to my privately hosted website database. For the platforms we post on we are the products

They told me that it was from the background LPs I play that are barely audible that I talk over during breaks. I'm honestly surprised anything could even detect it, it's from old country compilations.

I thought they had all that stuff covered, but they're taking my shows down because it has too many songs by the same artists, despite me playing no artist twice on almost every episode. It's a shame, because it was such a great resource.

Yeah it seems weird but it does really seem to dig up gunk from in the grooves. I use some reusable diaper pads we had so I can wash them.
comment in response to post
I heard from some moldy 78 guys years ago that diapers are the best for cleaning out grooves instead of a cloth. I never tried because I never had a diaper. Now that I have a kid I’ve been using them and they really do get in there.

What’s your go to cleaning method for shellac?

Looking good!

Looks like I’ll be bingeing stranglers records for the rest of the day

Did they complain that the bass tone was too unique?
comment in response to post
I guess they didn’t appreciate how nice n sleazy it is.

I like that he keeps it interesting

How do you feel about his current crooner era?
comment in response to post
This is not very exciting stuff for most people, but for me it's the first step of DC doing some really great work.

It was great, but I still wished I could have seen them back in the day on the original country tour! I have friends who did and said it was damn good.

32/ Rainbow Twins - Ruby's Stool Another on GM Records out of Gladwater, TX. The Twins were from Gilmer TX. Whenever I see the title of this I think it would be really funny if it was about Ruby's poop, but it's just about a thing you sit on. www.discogs.com/release/2004...

31/ Cowboy Copas - I Built A Fence Around My Heart Cowboy Copas is one of my favorites from the early days. He died on the plane with Patsy Cline and Hawkshaw Hawkins. He released a metric shit ton of singles on King and I think they're all good. www.discogs.com/release/1081...

30/ Glen Campbell - Wichita Lineman Another Ween connection. Many years ago Dean Ween put a small list of songs he thought were amazing on ween.com and this was one of them. I'd never heard of Glen Campbell at the time, but I still love this song. www.discogs.com/release/9200...

29/ Ween - 12 Golden Country Greats I have over 7k things in my collection and two Ween Lps got picked. I guess it was meant to be. I saw them play this album at the Ryman with most of the original country players and it was so good. www.discogs.com/release/2139...

28/ D'Angelo - Untitled One time my wife and I were at a local bar and this drunk jerk kept putting every overplayed rock song on the touch tunes, so we started putting D'Angelo on and paying extra to play it next and he would loudly yell about it every time. www.discogs.com/release/3461...

27/ Millard Presley & His Presleys - Jesus My Savior People in the biz call this "Primitive Rockabilly" I think. I'm not big into the labeling of every sound, but I can see what they mean. It's upbeat fun gospel music led by acoustic guitar that rocks. www.discogs.com/release/6238...

26/ Hoyle Nix & His West Texas Cowboys - Texas Girl Western swing from Snyder TX. Snyder is in west/central Texas? I don't know how to describe directions in Texas because it's shape is so silly. Either way I love this label design. www.discogs.com/release/1052...

25/ Johnny Horton - I Got A Hole In My Pirogue The first time I saw this I thought it was about pierogi and was disappointed it wasn't about that. But it's still one of my favorite Horton jams. www.discogs.com/release/3479...

24/ Ween - The Pod This is a formative album in my life. I couldn't get into it until one day when I was sick from school and I put it on. I had rented Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 for playstation and sat around playing and listening to this. It's my all time favorite now www.discogs.com/release/2898...

23/ Santa Esmeralda - Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood Speaking of dollar bin killers, this one is damn good but the LP version is way better. The LP should be a dollar too. A drawn out version of this hit done by Nina Simone & The Animals. Featured in Kill Bill Vol.1 www.discogs.com/release/2221...

22/ Jim Ford - Harlan County This single is cheap and so, so good. I highly recommend you grab a copy. I'm glad there are still good dollar bin killers out there! www.discogs.com/release/1179...

21/ Speer Family - Suppertime A country gospel family band based out of Nashville TN. This is on a budget label that usually put out cheap covers of current hits, but they did do some other original stuff too. The Speer Family was around from 1921-1998! www.discogs.com/release/1268...

19/ Roger Miller - Chug-A-Lug You know how there are some songs that are just foundational for you? This is one for me, put on a mixtape with a few other country songs before I ever really got into country. Still holds a place in my heart. www.discogs.com/release/2125...

18/ Black Sabbath - Paranoid USSR pressing of this. I like soviet pressings because they often have different covers and they tend to sound amazing. www.discogs.com/release/1883...

17/ Rhythm Rockers - You Ring My Bell This is a square dance record. Ever heard of that? One one side is an instrumental and one side is the instrumental with a caller calling out square dance moves while singing through the lyrics. An artifact from a lost time. www.discogs.com/release/1428...
