You can load games from an SD card onto the Dreamcast, but it requires either replacing the optical drive with an SD reader (GDEMU) or getting an SD card adapter for the system (cheaper, no assembly, but maybe worse performance?). Searching "DC SD Dreamcast" on Amazon brought up plenty of results

Reddit seems to think that's a myth. I've never heard of cd-rs making lasers work harder on any device. I've used 1000s of cdrs and never had a laser go out on me.
I'd say it's safe. I used cdrs on my DC for years and it was still working when I gave it away in 2018

Aronofsky: did you see my new AI-generated movie?
Barker: well i was going to
Barker: but then i thought
Barker: why waste time watching a movie like a chump?
Barker: when i could just get the AI to watch it and summarize it for me

Jello Biafra was bringing up the same argument in the late 90's. It's strange listening back to his old spoken-word albums and hearing him pointing towards where things are now

I try, but to be fair, no one going to the party is vegan. It's just a fantastic recipe

Yoon did not show up and has not yet responded.
But they did not wait a dang second to make it clear to him he's out.
The entire nation watched the presidential flag taken off of the dude's house while he probably peeped through his window and cried.

As Mike reiterates in many places, as long as you have the books, you can play the game. However, my guess is Wizards' corporate ambition is to add rules and functionality to D&D Beyond to encourage players to feel like the books themselves aren't enough, both in terms of content and convenience

The starting point, though, is convenience. As you note, the frustrations he has with the books are absent in the digital. My suspicion is the next step will be adding custom macros which speaks to the absence of orcs--D&D Beyond exclusively will let you generate NPCs of whatever species you want.

I think this is the key detail and ties into something he said in a blog post ages ago: Wizards wants D&D Beyond to be the official version of D&D. As things get updated, tweaked, added to, they'll be there instead of in published books so if you want the latest ruleset, you need a subscription.
