A friend shared this with me today & I thought it was very apt. “Happy new year” is difficult to hear when you already know it’s going to be really tough

AAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Hey. Real talk. Even if the only thing you "accomplished" this year has been to survive, that's still an accomplishment. Sometimes it's harder to make it from one day to the next. But you made it. And you're still going. So cheers to you. I'm proud of you.

Youngest drew me a ladybird for the first time this morning 🐞

Today’s finds include Halyzia 16-guttata (Orange Ladybird), Anatis ocellata (Eyed Ladybird), and amazingly, my 2nd fungified ladybird in as many days!! Harmonia 4-punctata (Cream-streaked Ladybird) this time! Fungus is Beauveria bassiana I believe! #VC40Ladybirds

#ArtAdventCalendar final entry: a cross stitch project from 2020. At some point I’ll go back to this craft!

The kids are playing the electronic arcade Smash-A-Mole game they got for Christmas. It’s keeping them pretty occupied this afternoon.

I had read Maya Angelou‘s poem before, but only recently saw this recitation of it. It is so deeply moving. It follows in several parts. part 1 of 6
