I think my main problem with the online right wing fretting over Zohran is they all hate NYC the rest of the time anyways? This would be like me crying HARK, THE BEAUTIFUL DALLAS COWBOYS ARE IN PERIL when they made some terrible move

Meanwhile, on the Big Beautiful Bill, @ryanlcooper.com points out that the one big area where energy tax credits are actually expanded is in ethanol and biofuels, which is demonstrably worse for climate change and a horrible use of land: prospect.org/politics/202...

No, they learned. What they learned was disaster capitalism: Provoke crises & profit FAR more handsomely that could ever be done in non-crisis periods. Look at 2008: everyone took a hit, but the top 1% got far, far richer w/in 5 years, while normies took ~10 yrs just to recover what they lost.

That Clyburn thinks Andrew Cuomo is part of the future of the Democratic Party - and points to his character!!! — is the problem with the current Democratic Party leadership in a nutshell. www.nytimes.com/2025/06/20/n...

Think about what it says to talk about a 67 year old, even leaving aside how awful he is, as “the future” of anything. Solipsistic octogenarian cowards anointing a Medicare-eligible ex-governor who resigned in disgrace the future captain of the sinking ship. What a party.

the Democratic Party is just completely broken right now

Everything that’s happened over the past six months has been a response to an imaginary crisis. There is no immigrant invasion. No trade crisis. No scientific or governance crisis. Just people completely high off their own supply trying to fundamentally reorder society. None of this had to happen.

the senate report is here: www.warren.senate.gov/imo/media/do...

Spare me the fake outrage. None of these people showing up for court are criminals of any kind. As a prosecutor, I worked with many ICE officers who arrested violent criminals. None of them wore masks. Many of your agents are clearly ashamed to carry out your orders.

I'm genuinely sorry that Fetterman had a stroke and suffers from depression. But arguing that he has a free pass not to do his job in the name of destigmatizing brain injury and mental health struggles is offensive. If he can't do it, he should resign. If he doesn't want to, he should resign faster.

What I'm hearing is that his attendance at this dinner where people hand him bribes is not an official presidential action, as designated for absolute criminal immunity in Trump v. United States

The comment period for this ends in 3 DAYS. Please leave a comment telling them EVERYONE should be able to get covid boosters. www.regulations.gov/commenton/FD...

If you wanted a sense of how backwards things are in Washington – today Republicans in the House defeated their own budget bill. Their reason was not that it would gut Medicaid for millions, or decimate food assistance. Their reason was that the cuts weren't deep enough.

I wrote about how the pandemic forced everyone to be much more online than they used to be, and about how that’s still messing with our glorified ape brains today: little-flying-robots.ghost.io/a-world-in-t...

"Some of these people legitimately went mad with power, acting as if they were the god-kings of what was then an obscure and experimental social media website with less than 100,000 total users." little-flying-robots.ghost.io/a-world-in-t...

The thing about political strategies such as a) persuasion, b) making good policy, and c) Downsian responsiveness to the median voter is this: It makes sense to use very different strategies in the short versus in the longer term. /1

just a really long sustained and, as it goes on, increasingly obviously sarcastic round of applause to every Democratic op who is still pushing the utterly failed "culture war stuff is just a distraction" narrative and using "woke" as a pejorative. Republicans are gross weirdos just keep saying it.

Unlike in his 1st term, American businesses, billionaires, and foreign governments now assume that because Trump won twice they can engage in blatant corruption and not face the wrath of American law under future governments. I think they are underestimating the American people and our Constitution.

A swath of media acts like the biggest victims of COVID were people who speculated that it leaked from a lab and received replies on social media like “no evidence, conspiracy theorist, stop it” instead of “I doubt it, the epidemiological evidence indicates otherwise, but can’t totally rule it out.”

You know what else reports a net loss every quarter? Every single police department in the country.

You know how Trump blew up Obama's excellent Iran deal, and all the predictable consequences ensued, and now Trump is desperately trying to recreate basically that same deal? Feel like that deserves at least as much media outrage as Biden pulling troops out of Afghanistan.

BREAKING: I asked Hakeem Jeffries about the viral report that he and leadership want Dems to stop going to El Salvador

very strong headline
