In the process of packing and I came across an old photo album of a 2001 trip to Prague. When taking this pic on the Charles Bridge, I remember thinking that the guy on the right looked a bit like a spy from a 1960s film.

The National Park Service fired many of its park rangers as part of a reduction in the federal work force. Some rangers decided it was worth the risk to speak out online about the cuts and share their love of the Park Service. “It’s scary, but it was the right thing to do.”

Have you seen this @mrjamesob.bsky.social ? I think decent politicians everywhere in the free world need to grow a pair.

Dark Pence is back.

@mrjamesob.bsky.social the whole “compassion for the conned“ thing is no longer an option.

It started with the world condemning Russia with the USA & Europe wholly united. Remember Zelensky's tour around all the parliaments & congress with his standing ovations. & Now? You have to feel incredibly sorry for the Ukrainians. Betrayed after been told "as long as it takes"

Disappointed to hear Ed Davey using the term Family Farm Tax to describe the very favourable IHT terms available to agricultural land. There are lots of small family run businesses in the UK, chippies, corner shops etc, they aren't exempt from IHT and don't have favourable terms.

Everything‘s fiiiiine.

How about an election in Russia?

Scientists, doctors and public health professionals at the National Institutes of Health, the CDC, the FDA, and other federal agencies have been fired under President Trump’s effort to shrink the government.

Listening to @mrjamesob.bsky.social talking about normalcy bias this morning and can’t help but relate it to responses I’ve received over the past couple of days to this post on FB. Responses by people I know to be good people but they just seem so totally lost in an alternate reality. It’s sad. 1/2

Do we really need growth — and if so, of what? Labour’s growth obsession ignores a key truth: we’ve already ‘arrived’ – instead of chasing more, it’s time to share prosperity fairly.

This is where we are now: An elementary school at Fort Campbell has removed all books from its library that so much as *allude* to slavery or the civil rights movement. The wholesale erasure of history in real time.

"It is well-known that most of the mainstream media do not approach a Labour Government in a neutral way. Some blatantly misrepresent what is happening, but more often they simply do not report activity, leaving people with a sense that the government is doing nothing."

Imma need You to realize this

Article 5 - that an attack on one Nato ally is an attack on all - has only been invoked once, after 9/11, by the United States

@petebuttigieg.bsky.social since the Democrats are more or less toothless until (hopefully) the midterms, the party needs to really get focused and ruthless about putting forward the best qualified, most likely to win candidates for every open seat. Also need to get apathetic citizens voting again.

The end is nigh. I actually agree with something Mitch McConnell has said. From BBC News online:

Welcome to the FAFO phase of the great American experiment. The USA has already fallen very far, very quickly. While I have sympathy for those who did not vote for this dumpster fire of a government, I have absolutely none for those who did.

Mitch McConnell voting no on terrible cabinet picks because he doesn’t have to run for reelection is all the proof you need that we must have term limits. You shouldn’t only have a spine because you don’t have to run again. We are breeding chicken shit power hungry electeds.

Ukraine needs to see our solidarity more than ever now 🇬🇧🇺🇦🇪🇺

Tulsi Gabbard has just been confirmed as the Director of National Intelligence. 😫

If you could find a way to generate electricity from Ronald Reagan spinning in his grave you'd be able to power the Eastern Seaboard right now.

The Labour Party went into the 2024 election promising to reform the discredited NHS contract fuelling the current crisis According to @thebda.bsky.social there has been no material progress to date & its deeply concerned the Treasury is now standing in the way of progress youtu.be/Hu0Okad5O1w?...
