That's what happens when Bill Daly's son works for your team.

Only way to beat the Panthers is to hurt them more than they hurt you.
comment in response to post
I think Adam is referring to Florida, not Toronto in response to the trolling the Panther's players and coach did after game 7.

I'm sorry, we don't get to ignore the legacy of our system of representation because we are uncomfortable with it. My point is we can't have this discussion until we hear from the first peoples.

I have a problem with any argument that uses land as a basis. The land was largely taken from its original peoples. Our political system is meaningless unless we include the true owners of this land in the conversation.
comment in response to post
I guess the problem you have with your argument is that land doesn't vote, people do.

I hope so.

It's called defense. You don't have to score a million goals if you don't allow any.

I'm sorry. It's been a tough time up here in Canada too. I hope tomorrow is brighter.

Art therapy helps my wife sometimes. I hope you know you are loved, if not by anyone you know, then there's me. I hope you find something that helps.

Both new guys missed coverage, but hey, they haven't had a full practice day at that point.

Poverty is a moral failure of society, not the moral failure of an individual.

If it were up to me, I'd shut Auston down until the playoffs. Let him heal as much as possible and totally dominate the post season.

People are not one dimensional sound bites. If you do not have it in you to embrace those you strongly disagree with, I don't have time for you.

Has someone sabotaged the skate sharpener or the ice really that bad?

The type of morality I'm speaking of is Christocentric. It is based on Jesus's teaching. Love everyone as you want to be loved. Follow on his teachings about love, it is patient, kinds, keeps no record of wrongs, forgives etc. As soon as eugenics entered thr Nazi dogma morality left.

Incidentally, as a 450lbs man, little fella is hardly a fitting description.

It is but so is every other social movement. Capitalism wages war on the poor and disabled, communism wages war on the free thinkers, democracy wages war on the minorities. At some point we have to understand that it is not the religion or lack of religion that is the problem. It is us.

How do find them to be different.l?

I meant to say the lack of a moral centre allowed the Nazis to promote eugenics and instigate the holocaust. I did not mean that atheists are all like Hitler. I'm sorry if I failed to explain my views we'll enough.

I'm sorry to hear that and to some degree I belive that. I'm Canadian and let me tell you that it is your very disability that makes you a vital part of society. You can teach others what we will never understand from your unique perspective. You are vital to democracy.

I'm not dehumanizing you by telling you what I believe. That is democracy in action. Democracy is not a safe space without challenges. Democracy is a is forum for sharing ideas and thoughts until consensus is reached or it isn't. I'm OK with that, if you believe in humanism as you described, u are 2

I don't understand how what I choose to believe makes me a bigot. We believe different things. I'm OK with that. I love you and affirm you, because that is what I choose to believe is the moral thing to do.
comment in response to post
Populism is not a basis for truth. Democracy has proven that over and over.

I think there are far more agnostics than there are atheists. Even Darwin understood the folly of his theory when he understood the design required to construct a single cell. Intelligent design cannot be denied. Even billions of years can't lead to absolute harmony in design.

Not at all. Science is very important, but, without a moral governor you end up with eugenics. Heard of a fellow named Plato? He had some interesting ideas about selective breeding. No morality equals some people are better than others which leads to genetic selection and Nazism
comment in response to post
Democracy is not a moral construct. If we are only concerned with shaping our own lives through self actualization, who will care for the sick. More importantly who will affirm those who are not in the majority of those self actualized to shape their own lives. This is the beginning of eugenics.

Jesus was crucified because he represented an end to hate and the beginning of love. It comes down simply to accepting, affirming and loving everyone with equity. The old teachings were set against this. The end of these teachings would mean the end of their way of life and the control they had.
comment in response to post
When someone believes they are better than others, like the Nazis did, they can do almost anything. A moral code insists that all life is sacred and must be preserved and affirmed. Heinrich Himler did not have a moral code, the result was devastating for the entire world.
comment in response to post
They had no moral code. The absence of which leads to all kinds of evil.
comment in response to post
Actually Jesus did far more than that, but, he did not instruct anyone to hate or to see their fellow man as less than they are. That is an OT theology that was replaced by the grace of God through the sacrifice of himself. Those passages are correct. If you refuse to hate, your family may not agree

I know that's true. I left my last church because they refused to apologize for the genocide of the Indigenous people of Canada and their refusal to love 2SLGBTQA+ People simply because Jesus commanded us to do so. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to be good, I just don't want to embarrass Jesus.

I can't speak to the united states as I am Canadian and a proud affirming Anglican. We don't turn off our brains, we question everything. We love everyone, including those who do not believe or even violently oppose us. That is what Jesus taught and that is who we follow.
comment in response to post
Wow, not sure what you are reading. The church did not exist until after Jesus's death. If you are talking about the Abrahamic nations, they existed before Jesus came to establish the church.

I loved and still love our Queen. Grew up in grade school singing God save the Queen and gazing at her coronation picture. For all of its faults and there are many, I appreciate our system of government.
comment in response to post
Not even close. Jesus clearly stated to love your enemy and to love your neighbours as you do yourself. How can those commands possibly result in dominance?
comment in response to post
If as a Christian you understand the reason for Christ's death, you realize that each of us caused his death. It wasn't the Jews, it was every single one of us. This is not a radical view, it is simple theology.

Right back at you from Canada.

I'm not sure we can make that jump in either case. I do think that without a moral compass, mankind can commit almost any evil.
