Because no one actually watches a game to see the umpire/ref perform. They watch to see the best athletes on the planet perform.

There's a Tim Pool joke in here about how much you should be paid for stuff like this

Counterpoint: When you've been rebuilding for 25 years you get hot takes like "trade anyone who is good to build for the future"

Got it. Makes sense then to perhaps get a laptop. Some nights I'll have three screens up with 4-5 games on at once.

Yeah, that makes plenty of sense. I didn't have that kind of data when playing..... 23 years ago.
What year is it? I can't wait for dinner at 3:45pm.

Playing deeper always made more sense to me. The ones that land in front of you usually aren't extra-base hits. The ones that land behind you almost always are.

There was a point in time where I bought a bluetooth keyboard and used it with a tablet and with a mouse for more of the simple typing kind of stuff. That could be a cheaper option if it would work for what you need. The limited screen space was a factor for some things, though.

There's nothing wrong with that. But those are at best, 4th on the list.

I almost talked myself into buying on with Mario Kart just so I could play against them, but I really shouldn't be spending that much money for something I probably would not use often. Should have been born with a trust fund. I'm so dumb.

I'm hoping to distract my nephews with something else later this week and get some Mario Karting in while they aren't looking.

Yeah, but how many hours will you two play it next week?

Oh I understand them both. One is named very incorrectly.

Look, I either want "xBA" and "catch probability" to add up to 1 or I want xBA to be renamed to something that reflects what it's measuring.
I'm a simple man but "the chances it's a hit" and "the chances it's caught" have to add up to 1 and they almost never, ever do.
Forever mad about this.

Fun story - I went to the dentist last week for a toothache. I left that dentist without them doing anything, referring my elsewhere, but also trying to sell me on having them do $8,000 worth of work that was not at all involved in solving the toothache I was having.
I love it here.

Just pay your fine. Jeeze. Make checks payable to @psr1973.bsky.social And don't forget, the first "s" in Philip R. Superstar is capitalized.

A lot of people who are online, twitter or not.
I can't tell you how many times I've read how good of a hitter Santiago Espinal is this season before his 2-for whatever slump he's currently in because he never strikes out. Even when his OPS was like .655 before the slump.

That feels like a lot of work. I should probably just keep saving money where I can and hope for the best.

So you're saying to invest in a tent now while I have the money? Smart. Very smart.

Everyone's favorite player named after a player - ICHIRO CANO - hit a grand slam in the inning and also had an RBI single in said 6th inning.

None of them are skeptics. That's treating them as actually curious. They are deniers.

I bought a truck in December. I just wanted something with at least a 6 foot bed and at least some modern creature comforts like a screen that was larger than my phone. Just that was difficult to find.

I don't know your living situation exactly, but all of my lettuces (and some basil) have a very small footprint that would work on a patio or balcony that gets a little bit of sun.

Just wanted to chime in with I ate a huge salad tonight with romaine lettuce, buttercrunch lettuce, and arugula all from my garden. The pickles, dressing, and fish did not come from my garden. Maybe one day I'll just get it all from my yard.
