I write baseball words for a living. Constantly tired and ready to retire. Here to make myself laugh.

I once made pizza for Brent Spiner in a parking lot.
Wait, that might have been someone else.

I have some bad news for you: Matt Holliday is old enough to have a son that debuted in MLB in 2024.

Because no one actually watches a game to see the umpire/ref perform. They watch to see the best athletes on the planet perform.

Counterpoint: When you've been rebuilding for 25 years you get hot takes like "trade anyone who is good to build for the future"

Got it. Makes sense then to perhaps get a laptop. Some nights I'll have three screens up with 4-5 games on at once.

Yeah, that makes plenty of sense. I didn't have that kind of data when playing..... 23 years ago.
What year is it? I can't wait for dinner at 3:45pm.

Playing deeper always made more sense to me. The ones that land in front of you usually aren't extra-base hits. The ones that land behind you almost always are.

There was a point in time where I bought a bluetooth keyboard and used it with a tablet and with a mouse for more of the simple typing kind of stuff. That could be a cheaper option if it would work for what you need. The limited screen space was a factor for some things, though.

There's nothing wrong with that. But those are at best, 4th on the list.

I almost talked myself into buying on with Mario Kart just so I could play against them, but I really shouldn't be spending that much money for something I probably would not use often. Should have been born with a trust fund. I'm so dumb.

I'm hoping to distract my nephews with something else later this week and get some Mario Karting in while they aren't looking.

Oh I understand them both. One is named very incorrectly.

Look, I either want "xBA" and "catch probability" to add up to 1 or I want xBA to be renamed to something that reflects what it's measuring.
I'm a simple man but "the chances it's a hit" and "the chances it's caught" have to add up to 1 and they almost never, ever do.
Forever mad about this.

Fun story - I went to the dentist last week for a toothache. I left that dentist without them doing anything, referring my elsewhere, but also trying to sell me on having them do $8,000 worth of work that was not at all involved in solving the toothache I was having.
I love it here.

Just pay your fine. Jeeze. Make checks payable to @psr1973.bsky.social And don't forget, the first "s" in Philip R. Superstar is capitalized.

A lot of people who are online, twitter or not.
I can't tell you how many times I've read how good of a hitter Santiago Espinal is this season before his 2-for whatever slump he's currently in because he never strikes out. Even when his OPS was like .655 before the slump.
