Loved Watership Down. The Spencer Quinn books are very different. There's a lot of humor with the dog's POV. Worth a try as a fun break from the political doom we're living in.

Is Fox even covering Palantir? If not, the MAGA folks have no idea it's happening.

For nonfiction, I unexpectedly loved Naomi Klein's Doppelganger.
Tim Alberta's The Kingdom and the Power and the Glory was eye-opening and disturbing.
Neither of these, though, will give you a break from politics.

Another great dog-centered mystery series is the Chet-and-Bernie books by Spencer Quinn. Usually I'm skeptical of books from a (non-human) animal's POV, but these are delightful enough to forgive the anthropomorphisms.

I called my representative and senators about this. For the first time, I got through (not voicemail) to all three. That worries me that people aren't calling as much. None of the people I spoke to had heard of this line in the BBB. It's very sneaky.

I'm finding myself on the same side as Laura Loomer with this nomination. What is happening?

It's like he took Baudrillard's theory of the Simulacrum as a challenge.

I agree. Trumpism is so quickly becoming normalized. We need to actively and constantly remind ourselves that it is abnormal, and to resist letting it just be "the other side."

So I guess the tariffs aren't *all* bad.

Very helpful as an answer to MAGAts who say, "But Biden overused Executive Orders too!"

And, to be fair, T did say that he knew nothing about Project 2025. That was a lie.

Actually, all of the questions at the Ricketts town hall in Kearney were great. Every one of them was smart, informed, thoughtful, and well-crafted. This kind of pushback (civil and respectful but also urgent and emotionally charged) from this audience gave me hope.

On a more positive note, I was so impressed with all the questions from the audience. Every one of them was smart, informed, thoughtful, and well-crafted.

It was great to attend this town hall and to show Ricketts that south central Nebraska is paying attention and holding him accountable. We are not a bunch of dumb hicks that he can take for granted, as he seemed to assume in his opening.

Great question. Unacceptable answer.
