To put a finer point on it, there is a difference between “he can’t” and “he’ll try” To conflate the to is to give in to the lawlessness that they are demonstrating. Every illegal action should be met with a loud condemnation and a robust physical presence at protests

Too busy blazing with Rogan. Our political tormentors truly are some of the dumbest fucks to ever live

And by witnessed I mean I have worked at a polling place and monitored local ballots being delivered to an election office

Rigging an election in America is incredibly difficult because there are thousands of election entities throughout the country. As someone who has studied local government in school and has witnessed elections I find this avenue very unlikely
comment in response to post
Because Americans have a centuries long expectation that elections happen. To not participate would cede legitimacy. They need to project legitimacy in order to retain power. As to standing up, I encourage you to read this: wagingnonviolence.org/2025/06/amer...

Well, no. I have polling that educates what I am saying. Trump is operating in an environment that is already negagtive for him.

Roughly 77 million people voted for Trump or just under one quarter of the US population.
comment in response to post
My point in mentioning you are not of the US is to note that you do not participate in the norms of our society, so you may not get the subtlties.

Much conjecture here, very little in the way of fact bases analysis

Russian society and the Russian government are incredibly different than the US to say nothing of the last 100 years for Russia vs the US. Comparative politics and government are a helpful tool but they only go so far.
comment in response to post
Again, the US is a population of 350 million people spread out over nearly 10 million sq kilometers. How are they going to enforce martial law? Also do you live in the US? You said you were a German, so I’m curious if your observations are first hand

Your definition of “planning” is very different than mine it would appear. They have not carefully or strategically executed anything of the sort. They have achieved very little other than turning the public against them and failing to subdue a small protest in one city
comment in response to post
It’s not just about rules, it’s a shear lack of man power. The US has a population of 350 million, there are less than 150k federal law enforcement officers. Successful fascist takeovers take years to execute with lots of pre planning. Trump and Co are trying this on sheer force of will alone

And what is that bad news?

Germany is and has been a very different society than the US, but yes comparative politics/government is a very useful tool when analyzing a situation

Sure, but it shows you know fuck all about our system

I would suggest looking at recent polling

Its “head out of my ass”, if you are going to participate in US discourse you should at least get the sayings straight

How is he going to enforce his will? With what manpower?

None of those places have the US system of government, Alice
comment in response to post
She’s not though. Anybody who has worked an election in the US knows it’s a ludicrous statement
comment in response to post
Elections are not the issue, it’s the seating of our duly elected representatives that will be the issue
comment in response to post
It’s very comical to me that people think the US Federal government can forcibly coerce 350 million people
comment in response to post
Legalism is irrelevant, the federal government does not have the manpower to stop elections in the US
comment in response to post
How exactly will US elections be cancelled?
