It's not as bad now as it's going to get; the damage done so far will lead to more damage as infrastructure crumbles and the usual redundancies aren't there to limit the damage. Eventually it'll get bad enough that all but the most extreme will rebel against "Well, we have to let them try." 2/2

I wish, though, that public agencies like fire departments were publishing on platforms other than xTwitter. I used to love following fire departments, especially in wildfire season. They simply never adopted other platforms.
So, yes, there are small parts that I miss.
