After the geopolitical seismic shift of Trump and Vance’s alignment with Russia and their awful treatment of Zelenskyy, this feels like another seismic event. I believe we have to accept that things are rapidly changing, without becoming desensitised to the outrages we’re witnessing.

Trump's 'deal' was always going to fail. Both the extortion of Ukraine and the pro-Russia fake peace. Krasnov lost it when Zelensky criticised Putin, enemy of the free world. America has left the free world and we have just to get used to that and figure out what next with our allies in Europe.

I’ve long argued that psychotherapy cannot be apolitical even though most modalities take that approach. There seems to be a palpable sense of uncertainty and high anxiety. I think it’s because the tectonic plates of societal stability have significantly moved and are still moving.

This quote has been on my mind a lot lately. I’m sick of people/media/politicians downplaying the far right rhetoric of Trump, Musk, Farage et al. They’re showing us exactly who they are and have for a long time. To downplay their behaviour is to accept on some level this is normal. It isn’t.

After yesterday’s inauguration, today feels very bleak. Musk’s Nazi salute has shaken me to my core and I know I’m not alone. Things feel frightening. Those of us who are horrified need to find solidarity and comfort in one another to overcome what lies ahead. We can’t afford to ignore it.

Yesterday was International Day of Disabled People. Ironically (aptly!) I wasn’t able to post as my own invisible disabilities ( #ME/CFS and #FND) were bad. It’s important to remember that not all disabilities are visible and that dynamic disabilities exist too 🌻 #IDDP24
