These are brown shirts, and this is Nazi behavior. We are not in a fight between right and left anymore. This is a fight between Americans and those who would bend the knee to a king. If you care about the soul of this country, we have to stand for each other.

The Secretary of Defense goes on tv to explain he is preparing to have the military break the law.

🚨ACTION: Federal workers are receiving this email. 👇 SPREAD THE WORD: Have you been illegally terminated? Post 5 bullets about what you would have done this week tagged #LetUsWork. Let's help the public understand what they have lost. Tag us and we'll reshare! #AltGov

Let's say their names: * General CQ Brown, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff: FIRED FOR BEING BLACK * Admiral Lisa Franchetti, Chief of Naval Operations: FIRED FOR BEING FEMALE * Admiral Linda Fagan, Coast Guard Commandant: FIRED FOR BEING FEMALE All replaced by less qualified white guys.

Gov. Mills showed precisely the sort of integrity in the face of political pressure that the majority of the party currently lacks. More importantly, she did so extemporaneously and without hesitation from a purple state where this isn't a universally popular position. www.maine.gov/governor/mil...

Musk took over the US government with graft and is using it—in combination with his space launch firm—to exploit an allied country that’s suffering under Russian invasion for its mineral rights. The scheme is so imperiously evil I feel like audiences wouldn’t find it believable in a Bond villain.

This would pay the salary of every fired NPS employee for probably 10 years.

Shutting down existing EV charging hardware, which has already been paid for, is the definition of government waste. But I don't hear DOGE doing anything about this… 🙄 electrek.co/2025/02/21/t...

“That is why Trumpists are so focused on “ending DEI” in the federal workforce. They see anti-discrimination and inclusion as a ladder of upward mobility for people they do not believe should have one.”

FEMA has taken down its websites related to the Community Disaster Resilience Zones, which are mandated by Congress and part of the decision-making process for major federal grants like the Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities program:

It's with intense gratitude we share stories from some of the 1,000+ National Park Service staff terminated via email on February 14. Their stories contain frustration, anger, evaporated dreams and concern for the future of our parks.

SCOOP: For 25 years, FEMA has helped develop building codes that help homes survive floods and hurricanes. Now, FEMA is pulling back on that work, taking its name off recommendations its experts have written. On @npr.org www.npr.org/2025/02/20/n...

Louisiana Republicans have voted to remove Davante Lewis, the only Black member of the state commission that regulates utilities, from his position as vice chairman after he criticized Republican governor Jeff Landry on social media. So much for free speech. www.shreveporttimes.com/story/news/2...

SCOOP: On his second day as HHS secretary, RFK Jr., the onetime environmentalist, killed climate change programs at NIH that research and prepare for the health effects of extreme weather and a warming planet. This is not going to make Americans healthy. www.motherjones.com/politics/202...

🚨Imagine the suffering we are living since our return from the south we have no water. The bombing destroyed the generator that used to draw water Now we are in dire need of $3,000 to buy a new motor to supply our house and the houses in the neighborhood with water Please help us🙏 gofund.me/edd687b8

Exhibit #5,000,000 that none of this has anything to do with efficiency. It's just incredibly basic white Christofascism. Anti-science, anti-life. Profoundly sadistic. The people who claim they are going to protect your money would spend any amount of money to cause you even a little more pain.

NEW --There's this guy in the executive branch who in less than a month has already spent NEARLY 11 MILLION DOLLARS of taxpayer money playing golf. Yet the whole thing has flown under the radar of the crack waste/fraud/abuse squad over at DOGE somehow. www.huffpost.com/entry/donald...

The Trump administration fired 168 employees at the National Science Foundation. NSF manages a $9 billion budget that funds research on everything from astrophysics to semiconductors. Some left tenured faculty positions to work for the government, only to be abandoned by their own country.

Every scientist, long before they were a scientist, was a little kid who stood in front of a fish tank or stared up at the stars or turned over a rock to look at the bugs underneath and said “wow”. On the best days, working in science still feels like that.

On Friday night, HHS ordered CDC to take down all flu vaccine campaign materials from its website. Materials are starting to come down. For example, a campaign explaining that flu shot can reduce flu severity from "wild to mild" is now offline. Left image is from Friday, right is now Meanwhile...

In 2015, I stopped using MATLAB because basic functions like **averaging** were locked behind a license I no longer had. Imagine opening weather.gov and being blocked by a paywall before you saw the current temperature or tomorrow's forecast. Or having to watch an ad every time.

SCOOP @bloomberg.com: Top officials at the US Department of Homeland Security received a memo from Sec. Kristi Noem on Friday ordering an immediate stop to work connected to climate change and the elimination of climate-related terms across the agency. Gift link: www.bloomberg.com/news/article...

Anytime a storm is brewing, your local forecasters are getting the latest data from NOAA. As the agency faces an uncertain future, one thing's for sure: for-profit companies would struggle to replicate NOAA's weather-forecasting prowess.

Friday SCOOP: @vox.com has learned that USFWS has frozen its vast portfolio of international conservation grants. This is far beyond the scope of USAID-funded work and will inevitably harm wildlife internationally and in the US. @benjij.bsky.social has the story: www.vox.com/down-to-eart...

Top USAID officials are trying to create a false narrative that life-saving aid has continued despite Trump’s blanket halt to foreign aid. Our @nytimes.com reporting shows the exact opposite. USAID even issued an internal email to stop applications for waivers: www.nytimes.com/2025/02/12/u...

I was previously told by Republicans that the chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan was one of history’s greatest scandals. But the chaotic withdrawal of *all* USAID from the whole globe?! Crickets.
