I just voted today with only my driver’s license. Easy peasy!

For clinicians who work with families & youth we have a survey wed love for you to take. This survey asks you about the challenges you may feel are most influencing youth mental health today. About 5-10 minutes & we'd love to get a wide range of responses. Link: stetson.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_...

Some news! I’m excited to share that I recently began a term as the new Open Science Editor at Infant and Child Development, working with Sara Hart and an amazing international group of associate editors. What this will look like… 🧵

This is true, and I don’t even like hockey 🇨🇦

Worst. Episode. EVER.

I am proud to lead @researchmj.bsky.social and am grateful to work with amazing scholars/leaders like @ericrpedersen.bsky.social (Editor-in-Chief of Cannabis). Please read our statement below about the science we will always welcome in our journal and organization!

Everything is temporary. So why are you feeling stressed? If that easy time passed, this difficult time will too. Gurdeep.org

New paper by @vsavalei.bsky.social and @muhuahuang.bsky.social finds another way in which fit indices aren't great at revealing when the CFA model is not the true model. psycnet.apa.org/record/2025-...

Hive mind: I cannot seem to find a source that discusses the conceptual, theoretical, and methodological chaos that characterizes sudden, new research domains in the early stages (e.g., COVID-19). Got any recommendations? thanks

Have you ever felt misunderstood, judged, or treated differently because of your mental health? We want to interview you! Check out the flyer below to learn more about our research study. And take our screening survey if you'd like to participate: bit.ly/4gPzIuI

‼️ Check out my recent DIGIT-MI webinar on pre-processing EMA data. It may be easy to collect but there are some important things to think about before analyzing the data! My pre-processing scripts are being formalized & I will post via GitHub when ready! www.youtube.com/watch?v=RDRQ...

SQUEEEEE

I really liked this idea of using a histogram as a legend in a choropleth map (since land isn't unemployed; people are), so I made a little guide to doing it with #rstats, {ggplot2}, and {patchwork} www.andrewheiss.com/blog/2025/02...

Heading to SPSP? The secret is that conferences aren't about the talks; they're about connecting with people. And you might enjoy it more than you think (just ditch the grad school crew and work in pairs instead). My guide to academic networking: open.substack.com/pub/michaeli...

Are there any open access (or easily accessible) symptom, life history, personality etc data on folks *diagnosed* with common mental disorders (say MDD vs PTSD)? I want to showcase differences for 2 labels & need n~150 per category. Symptom data is a good start, anything else bonus. Thanks 🙏

Your outie understands when someone is making a joke on the internet and doesn't embarrass themselves in people's replies

Within 30 minutes of exploring a new raw dataset provided to me, I have discovered the following things: 1. Duplicate participants 2. Impossible values outside of allowable ranges for variables 3. Categories inconsistently coded in a variable Moral of the story, always check your data. 🌟

This year I have the honour of serving the Psychometric Society as its President, and we have been working hard on the program for the International Meeting of the Psychometric Society (IMPS) psychometricsociety.org/imps-2025 You can submit an abstract here: imps2025.exordo.com

Trust in science, and the status of science as a public good, has relied on public institutions as a foundation for providing resources and infrastructure and for adopting policies that promote research integrity. The last few weeks suggest that we could lose some of that foundation in the US. 1/

Daniel is too kind, I think what he means to say is f-off America.

I really have no patience for these little thought experiments about what would happen if you annexed my country. Just stop.

I fear it is time for me to be earnest on social media. We've had several complaints about how holding the protest on a Friday means fewer people will be able to attend. I understand that for some people this is quite true (e.g., ER docs). But if we don't put our science down for a day...

Can't stress how bizarre this is: Editor in Chief of top APA journal doesn't know where abtract of published paper comes from. Authors didn't write one because PAPER FORMAT DOESN'T HAVE ABSTRACTS. Like.. who wrote it @apajournals.bsky.social? (Massive thx to Aidan for being so transparent!)

Brilliant to see this kind of social media research published - using actual smartphone usage data, very frequent real-time measuring of wellbeing (via ESM), and individual difference measures - with the conclusion that people who are already lonely may be more negatively affected by social media
