Movie #32: Novocaine Ok but where do I get those salt and pepper shakers?

Movie #31: Mickey 17 Bong Joon Ho did it again. Another takedown of corporations, lack of humanity in the difference of class, and hatred of Trump’s cadre Pattinson and Ackie give spectacular performances filled with levity & heart, but Ruffalo deserves and Oscar just for those flippers. #Filmsky

I love (most of) the ingredients individually but it’s not as cohesive a meal as I was hoping.

Movie #30: Riff Raff Jennifer Coolidge refers to Pete Davidson as faggy and for that I say… 💁🏼‍♂️ ALLY 💁🏼‍♂️. Unfortunately the star studded cast can’t make up for a mediocre crime comedy script ran through a Coen Brothers AI script enhancer. #Filmsky

Movie #29: My Dead Friend Zoe I bawled. Cast Sonequa Martin-Green in everything. She’s fucking incredible and gives a brilliantly layered complex performance Natalie Morales is incredible as Zoe and is just so charismatic and electric. Also Utkarsh Ambudkar is just so charming. #Filmsky

Movie #28: Last Breath They let that man do another dive 3 weeks later?!? What the actual fuck. It’s a fine movie with decent tension but it doesn’t really give you time to care about a single person . #Filmsky

Movie #27: The Monkey Generational trauma and guilt are no joke sheesh. But this monkey business is also full of levity and jokes. I’m so happy to live in the same time as Tatiana Maslany. #Filmsky

Movie #26: Cleaner Daisy Ridley is great but this movie felt like it was made for Netflix but escaped the streaming release. Also hella mixed messages on who they want you to think are bad. Also, that autistic caricature was an oof.

Movie #25: CA:BNW Anthony Mackie is so charming irl but Sam Wilson is just devoid of charisma. The sidekick character had a more interesting story than him. Also, O Brother, Where Art better makeup/character designers for Delmar O’Donnell. Also I snuck in cause fuck that IDF actress. #FilmSky

Movie #24: Paddington in Peru It doesn’t quite contain the humor and wonder of the others but still a charming addition to the franchise. No shade to Emily Mortimer who did great but I miss Sally Hawkins 🥲 #Filmsky

Movie #23: Armand ‘God of Carnage’ meets ‘I’m Thinking of Ending Things’ meets ‘Mother!” Strongest in its slow building realism but even in its most surreal I was enraptured. Renate Reinsve is in no simpler terms: FUCKING INCREDIBLE. All me and my homies hate that blonde bitch, Sarah. #Filmsky

Movie #22: I’m Still Here The first act is almost the most horrifying part because it’s a snapshot of a beautiful family just living a beautiful life and BAM dictatorship. Fernanda Torres deserves every bit of praise she is receiving. A single pained glance holds back a storm of anger and terror.

Movie #21: Bring Them Down The Baaaaaaaansheeps of Inisherin Men would rather crash their car than go to therapy and talk out about feelings. In many ways this movie is about how life cuts off your legs and the inability to escape a cycle built to keep you stationary. #Filmsky

I really had hoped more from her but that’s why I gotta stop caring about (micro) celebrities

Movie #20: Love Hurts Positives: Ke Huy Quan’s performance Ariana DeBose’s performance The Action sequences Negatives: Ke Huy Quan & Ariana DeBose’s lack of chemistry The story The voice overs The extras The villain constant drinking boba The fact that all that is set in Milwaukee #Filmsky

Movie #19: Heart Eyes It’s like ALMOST campy enough but doesn’t push it as much as it could/should. The last act and reveal was kinda meh but still an enjoyable slasher. Criminally underused the best friend character though. #Filmsky
