We should definitely change it to the Gulf of Steve Martin #SNL50

Oh damn Prime actually published their failed chatgpt prompt in the description

For folks in DC with animal pals

This is true. A pal of mine who is a policeman went to a Scottish island recently to investigate a missing person and when the locals found out he was a Christian they stuck him in a giant human-shaped willow branch construction and burned him alive.

St. Valentine was also the patron saint of plagues. So Bubbles the Plague Rat and Yersinia pestis would like to say Happy Valentine's Day.

My new shoes arrived today. They are perfect.

I am currently listening to Buried Bones, a podcast by Kate Winkler Dawson and Paul Holes. And I just got a book recommendation from work for Kate's newest book. Which I already have. #books

If you have any interest in Zep, definitely go see Becoming Led Zeppelin. One of the best docs I've seen (plus early concert footage and tape from a Bonham interview that hasn't been heard before). #LedZeppelin

Writing about the Seige of #Chester today! circa AD909 led by a #viking army from #Ireland. According to a later Irish source, the invaders were driven off when citizens threw beehives at them over the walls. The defence was masterminded by Aethelflaed lady of the Mercians #medievalsky #history

And we have tickets for tomorrow night's showing of Becoming Led Zeppelin!

My firm is willing to represent pro bono those fired in this unlawful and vindictive purge. These dedicated civil servants were performing their jobs and upholding the rule of law.

One special and specific thing that Grady Hendrix's show did was to make me proud to be a crone. I've long had issues with aging. While I have given no fucks for a lot of my life, I am at the age where I am beyond not giving a fuck and I finally accept that being invisible gives me a lot of power.

If you get the chance, absolutely see Grady Hendrix! The show was funny and smart. There were the requisite bad horror novels but there was also the history of witches. A lot about the history of witches. Which was most excellent. (1/2)

Just as an FYI, Penguin Random House is continuing to support DEI and has no plans to stop any of its initiatives.

Shout out to Grady Hendrix for using Old English in Witchcraft for Wayward Girls! (I just sat down with my OE grammar and translated it.) Also this is an excellent book and everyone should read it. I fear that the subject matter (homes for pregnant teens in 1970) will become relevant again.

Bit of a fail here

Thanks, 23andMe for the historical matches! I don't have a bog body match like a good friend does, I do have Hungarian nobility (including the Bathorys) and a buttload of Vikings (including one who died at the St. Brice's Day Massacre, who was buried in the same grave as a match of said friend).

The ebook of Janina Ramirez's Femina is currently $2.99 on iBooks.

Storm Éowyn can be stopped in her tracks by a particularly fetching cardboard cutout of Aragorn.

Two genders for everybody to share is just unsanitary. Genders should be changed regularly, you have to at least let them air out before you put them on again 💅🏻

🚨BREAKING🚨 Leonard Peltier Granted Executive Clemency After 50 years of unjust incarceration and the tireless efforts of intergenerational grassroots organizing and advocacy, our elder and relative Leonard Peltier has been granted executive clemency.

Word of the day is ‘catch-fart’ (17th century: an obsequious individual who will always follow the political wind.

For Blue Monday we can't think of anything more appropriate than this charming depiction of a man getting his face eaten off by a leopard. #MosaicMonday

Wolf Man: as all good horror, there's analogy here-- more than one. Better effects CGI than werewolves (not hard). But I doubt anything will ever replace An American Werewolf in London as my favorite werewolf movie.

Back in the day, I was the production editor for the tie-in edition of Argo. So I got a T-shirt when the movie came out. It says Argo go f@*% yourself. It really works today.

It seemed like just a really great day for us to look at some of the worst toilets on Zillow.

Best migraine nurse ever

Dealing with a migraine today but the NatGeo channel's got my back There's a show on called Ancient Bodies. When I laid down to nap, we had the Werdinge bog bodies. Woke up a bit later and it was Otzi. Woke up again and another bog body! If I'm spending my day in bed, this had made it much better
