Had no idea the man was also a novelist. www.kirkusreviews.com/book-reviews...

Read Treasure Island. No idea why it took me until this age to do that - I should've as a kid. I'd say it's as good as an adventure novel can possibly be.

"Influencer" sounds like it could be a Jack Kirby super-villain to me, for some reason.

I'm thinking the big difference between Nordic noir and the American kind (aside from the setting) is they totally ditched the idea of the femme fatale.

Just saw Looney Tunes; The Day the World Blew Up. Great. Ready for more theatrical features from them. Only thing I wondered was, why the new alien instead of Marvin the Martian?

Ever wonder what microscopic animals watch for entertainment? What genies talk about when the wish makers are away? Or who enforces those silly old laws nobody mentions except to laugh at? All this and more in It's Amoeba TV and other stories www.barnesandnoble.com/w/its-amoeba...

One of the saddest days as a parent was when my oldest daughter outgrew Frog and Toad. Figured I'd enjoy them again with the younger one, but I've found I preferred other books she discovered - there's the Arnie the Doughnut series, Detective Dinosaur...

A.I. dude

My collection of children's stories (either the 1st or 2nd - can't really remember which I put up first). Probably never going to be ebook versions but maybe color versions later. www.barnesandnoble.com/w/opal-and-s...

Sometimes I wonder about those free book boxes... like maybe if the same person who donated that A. Merritt book I was so happy to find was the one who picked up the John Kendrick Bangs novel I put in there...

People laughed when Nic Cage said he wanted to play Egghead in the next Batman film. But if, today, Batman were to fight a supervillain who's trying to fix the price of eggs, people would call it timely.

Friends don't let friends buy off Amazon.

Excited to read the final Kurt Wallander novel but then again don't know if I'm ready to say goodbye to the character. I could experience it a second time by watching the Kenneth Branagh series but so far it's not doing it for me.

Generally, I'm kind of an originalist when it comes to comics. If I'm reading Popeye, I want it be by E. C. Segar, Superman by Siegel & Shuster, and so forth. But I did get a chance to look at some of Kyle Baker's Plastic Man and I was impressed. It was a worthy successor to Jack Cole.

Shoulda got the SNL guy to speak to congress. He does a better trump than the real guy.

Here's a thread showing how we did most of the practical special effects in our movie Strawberry Mansion (1/32)

Never saw the debate where they said he did so bad. Here in his last speech, he sounded more reasonable than anything I've heard since from the guy who came after him. I did kinda scratch my head at where he said AI can cure cancer, though. www.c-span.org/program/whit...

For everyone that's been waiting for a sequel to the film, The Terror of Tiny Town, well, this might be quite what you wanted, but could be the only one out there right now. There's an ebook version, too, if you're into that, hidden under the name Drew Blanc. www.barnesandnoble.com/w/return-to-...

Flow was a bit of a surprise for me. Good movie, but I figured they'd go for Wild Robot. Personally even though I'd never seen it, I was pulling for Memoir of a Snail. Just think it'd be cool to have an R rated picture win that award.

Saw Quo Vadis. From what I hear, it's completely a-historical. Nevertheless, it works as fiction. Peter Ustinov is wonderful and delivers one of the all time great movie villain performances.

A rare hatless Ernest

Saw A Woman Called Moses - seemed a little better than I remember Harriett being. Thought Cicely Tyson worked a little better as the lead (did seem to resemble the real person a bit more) and it was a more rounded out picture, with some moments of humor. Didn't hurt to have Orson Welles as narrator.

After you work the jumble, you can add an extra game and try and form a sentence with the unscrambled words. "The whaler decided to leave the money awhile." "The yokel was hiding the colon from the genius." "He needed to jiggle it, but he feared it would gouge him, so he gave it a wide berth."

Jesus, take the wheel! The Toxic Avenger (from @mattbors.bsky.social and @deadredfred.bsky.social's series) and Jesus Christ (of @manruss.bsky.social and @rpace.bsky.social's SECOND COMING) will be joining forces this summer called THE TOXIE TEAM-UP. Read more at @ign.com: ign.com/articles/the...
