Most people who know the NBA consider Brunson a top 5 PG. Even with a top player, a coach's job is to make adjustments when needed in a game. If two players are guarding Brunson, coach has to make adjustments to free him up to keep him facilitating & scoring. Clearly Knicks management believes that.

Okay, man... you just contradicted yourself twice. Brunson is a prolific scorer & can win a championship. Thibs' game plan was lacking. Notice, he panicked & extended the roster. He was experiencing and didn't effectively make adjustments as needed when Carlisle turned up the defense on Brunson.

You obviously weren't watching closely or not a student of the game. I.E., Carlisle made defensive adjustments in game 6 to slow down Brunson, keeping him mainly on the perimeter where he was ineffective & sloppy with the ball & only had 7 assists.Thibs had no answer for that..coaching matters
