They fret about their own loss of influence in a world that has moved on from their bullshit

Once shows require a podcast to understand what is happening, I’m out.

I mean, no kid should have a cell phone before middle school… high school preferably.

Is there a way to do this without straight up copying each note?

Is anyone saying it’s not a war crime?

Thing is I think of myself as left but with things the left doesn’t like. But I get that we aren’t all the same so that’s fine. I guess it’s probably because my default is “ok, I guess I would prefer the way that doesn’t kill/impact/destroy someone else’s way of life.”

I can be in the right if a Mac truck t-bones me through a red light, but I’m still screwed. Same for unidentified cops, I *might* win in court six years later but might also be eating with a straw for a few months. It’s totally f’d up, but that’s why it’s easier for the thugs than the opposition.

It’s not like summaries of books aren’t already available, AI didn’t invent that. People read books because, one, they like to read, and, two, learning the content on your own and considering/assessing/evaluating it with your brain makes you more thoughtful, interesting, and educated.

I don’t think the focus of the named fort debate is about “everyone in the confederacy” but that we shouldn’t honor the generals and leaders who were very much in fighting to maintain the right to own and abuse other human beings.

If the parents of the kids are liable for this (they aren’t) then the kids of the elderly person sure should have some blame for not taking the keys away (they shouldn’t). It’s a tragedy - and likely could’ve been prevented by innumerable policies that could create safer streets.

How could that possibly make financial sense? I can’t imagine it works with up front cost and maintenance for something that still needs to be driven somewhere and will most definitely take longer than a human would to complete its task.

If it can be powered by motor without pedal assist, it’s a moped.

It’s extremely odd to me how forced the AI tools are. If people want to use them they can find them out, stop trying to insert copilot into my crappy memos.

This is also similar to how you end up with people saying “we shouldn’t do x, it’s unpopular!” Well, make an argument for why it should be rather than folding immediately.

We got a bill a year and a half after our son’s birth for an extra $600 with a note that they made an error. Uhhh, sorry, I’ve closed that fiscal years book! I can’t imagine many people pay those.

Yes it’s nice to have little ones, but telling someone to “cherish” a time when you’re exhausted, unable to do much of anything wo more stress, and largely spending your time monitoring humans to prevent their death at all times is not a great bit of advice.

I was just out w a friend who has kids 5-7 years older than mine (2 & 6) and he said, unprompted “I don’t miss that at all. You’re in the thunderdome.”

I’m surprised Trump hasn’t focused on how Americans can’t buy property in Ontario, yet Canadians are buying land in NY. It’s a battle of niche vacation home buyers, but still, right up his ally.
