Thanks for the reply. I'm going to see how far I can get, but probably I'll need to ask for an extension...the editors are putting a lot of pressure on to have it turned around ASAP but I assume that's normal? (Maybe?!)

and planned to convert it to a PDF for my reading software. I paid for it with my own money and now I see it's only accessible on their particular (shite) browser reader, which, for one thing, my screen-reader can't read, and for another, it doesn't display properly given my accessibility settings.

We see similar in academic philosophy - arguments that are deployed for no reason than as an intellectual exercise, losing sight of the fact that the matters at hand have urgent moral importance.

Do I explain to them that now I've graduated, my UoM library/journal access has been revoked and it's four months until I begin my postdoc? Will they care?!
(I sent in the submission while I was still a few months off graduating...)

I imagine that if I ask the editors if they can wait 5 months for the revised version - giving me time to start postdoc and have at least *some* access to journals and eBooks/book PDFs - they will say no. Feel a bit stuck, now.

(Makes things even more complicated that I need eBooks and PDFs for accessibility reasons - due to vision impairment. Some of these resources I could feasibly obtain if I paid for them, but some of them can't be purchased as PDFs unless through a library subscription!)

it really brings back some weird feelings of deja-vu and stuff. it's weird on many levels. and also just, very bad in and of itself

Sure, a bribe is a kind of transaction, but it’s not a morally neutral one. The kinds of transactions Trump does are tainted - they’re forms of corruption & extortion. It's disappointing that public figures are too frightened to describe the reality & stick to neutral terms.

Particularly interested in this aspect: "(3) papers may aim to recraft international human-animal relations by developing political or legal visions, institutions and programmes through which these relations could be improved and institutionalized in a future world politics" ...

I feel like what I need to do is go stand at the top of a very big hill, and baa into the wind with some rugged sheep.
