Don't forget desperation. Desperate people work for cheap. Desperate people will submit to indignity.

That's where they get it!? That is unbearably stupid. The political asylum/mental asylum/Hannibal connection seems like dementia. The d&c lie is diabolical - just enough relationship to reality to convince the rubes. Argh.

Their will is a hammer that they are using to beat reality itself into a shape of their choosing... where reality is exactly what it looks like through their eyes, devoid of complexity, devoid of change, where they are right and their enemies are silent. -Folding Ideas, In Search of a Flat Earth

Even before DuckTales there was IMDb Scrooge McDuck and Money (1967). I think several generations of kids learned what money is from this short film created while we were still on the gold standard. I wouldn't be surprised if teachers were still showing it.

I have been thinking about the same thing. I think a lot of people moved off facebook and twitter (for good reasons). Maybe that's why it's slower to come together. Starting locally is a good way to get through this time as scientists and citizens. Science is getting hit hard, but not hardest.

Getting off the 'net is a good idea I think. I keep circling around the question of what I can do. The news is only useful to guide actions. When I have an answer, I'll tune back in.

I tried a bunch of collaborative management software and couldn't get buy-in from teammates. I use a bullet journal now, I like it better than online tools (which surprised me)
